Paige, who grew up a straight-A student in a small beach town, vowed never to use drugs after witnessing her brother struggle with addiction. She was studying to become a nurse. Meanwhile, Alex, who grew up in a wealthy, close-knit family, dreamed of being a professional basketball player.
