Megan Colarossi

Host

Megan DeSales Colarossi, aka “Momma Meg”, was most recently a co-panelist on NBC’s nationally syndicated talk show “The Meredith Vieira Show.” She was born and raised in Southern California, but has proudly called New York City home for almost 17 years. Before finding herself on the East Coast, she was first drawn South to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where she received her B.A. in Human and Organizational Development and Communications.

In 1997, Colarossi signed on with CNN where she worked behind the camera at the cable networks Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta bureaus. Quickly rising from associate producer to senior producer, Megan produced various live and long format programs including CNN Newsstand: Entertainment Weekly, CNNfn Entrepreneurs Only, and Headline News Primetime Live. After five years at CNN and hundreds of breaking news events later, she followed her passion for music and headed to MTV News. As the assistant managing editor and senior producer for the music channel, she interviewed everyone from rock stars to presidents. For the next six years, Megan traveled around the world for the music channel writing and producing award-winning pro-social programs about the war in Iraq, the tsunami in Indonesia, and the poverty crisis in Africa.

After many years in television news, Colarossi decided to dip her hand in other career endeavors. In 2006, she co-wrote a fiction novel called Spooning (Random House). In 2007, she followed her love of indoor cycling and helmed marketing and PR for a relatively unknown NYC spinning studio called SoulCycle. And in 2009, she helped a close friend launch a non-profit, The R.E.S.T. Initiative, which brought free massages to thousands of cancer patients at NYU Clinical Cancer Center in New York City.

In early 2013, Megan’s career path took yet another dramatic turn and she came back to the world of television, but this time in front of the camera. Her dear friend of almost 20 years and “TODAY Show” co-host, Willie Geist, convinced her to come on the morning show with him in a regular segment called “TODAY’s Friendly Advice” to offer millions of viewers her spot on and witty advice when it comes to life’s little dilemmas and sticky situations.  From “How do you tell a friend they have bad breath?” to “Is it ok to be friends with an ex?” Willie and Meg tackle issues that come up in our everyday lives. The premise is simple: Sometimes it’s better to get advice from a friend versus an expert!

Willie and Megan also host a new TODAY.com digital series called “Parental Guidance.” The dynamic duo, who are also parents, tackle common dilemmas that moms and dads face every single day. From lice and leaky diapers to cussing and curfews, Willie and Meg offer simple solutions that make parents lives a little bit easier. With a dash of humor and a dose of good’ole fashioned ingenuity, no tantrum is too big or too small for this witty pair to handle!

Most recently, Megan was a daily panelist on the nationally syndicated talk show “The Meredith Vieira Show” on NBC. Every day Meredith and her fellow co-panelists dished LIVE about What’s Hot Now!.  From breaking news and current events to parenting and pop culture, they covered everything and anything. Let’s just say no topic was off limits with this dynamic group!

Megan currently lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, enjoying life with her husband, Chris, and two adorable daughters, Hudson and Quinn.
