Evette Rios

Host

Evette Ríos is a Puerto Rican television host, lifestyle expert, writer and native New Yorker. She is the host of “Recipe Rehab” airing every Sunday morning on CBS. On “Recipe Rehab,” families submit a favorite high-calorie recipe. Chefs then compete to create healthier, lower-calorie versions – and make them easy for amateurs to duplicate. Prior to her work on CBS she starred on ABC’s “The Chew” as field correspondent and roving reporter. Latina Magazine has embraced Evette as one of the “50 Reasons to Love Being Latina Right Now,” calling her the “Mobile Martha Stewart.” Her role on “The Chew” made her the only Latina on a national daytime talk show. Evette is also a regular contributor in fluent Spanish to Univison’s “Despierta América,” “Tu Desayno Alegre,” “Al Despertar” and Telemundo’s “Buenos Dias Nueve York.”

Recently, Evette was named Director of Development for Latina Media Ventures 3 brands, Latina Magazine, Latina.com and The Latin Kitchen. There she is bringing her trademark can-do lifestyle content both in book and online and representing the brands on TV segments in both English and Spanish. She posts weekly blogs on her own site, evetterios.com, and is a contributor to rachaelray.com, xoJane.com and Parade.com. Evette is also known as hosts of the popular Better Homes & Gardens 100-Days of Holidays online video series.

Evette spent years as contributing design expert and “buddy” on “Rachael Ray,” where she became known for her fabulous hands-on advice, innovative crafts, and dramatic room revisions. Rachael also personally invited Evette to be her entertaining expert, and one of “7 buddies” on the Ehow Food Channel, “Rachael Ray and Her Buddies.”

Goodwill Industries has made Evette its National Spokesperson to supercharge its focus on expanding charitable outreach and job training services to Latinos. She also sits on the board DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS), one NYC’s oldest HIV’AIDS charities, with Whoopi Goldberg, David Rockwell and Richard Meier, and is chair of the Multi-Cultural Steering Committee at Bates College.

Evette is a consummate re-user and re-purposer and inspirers her fans with eco friendly ideas on a regular basis. As the “Salvage Queen” on Planet Green’s flagship show, “The GWord” she spared the environment while spotlighting green art and sustainable solutions, and created amazing furniture from curbside junk. Evette was also previously the host/designer on Freestyle (HGTV), and TLC’s home repair show In A Fix. Her frequent guest appearances include “The Talk,” “The TODAY Show,” “The Early Show” and “Meredith Vieria.” She has shared gardening tips on “Inside Edition,” in a series of appearances inspired by the Obamas’ garden, and penned a chapter to the bestselling book, “The Experts Guide to Doing Things Faster.”

Her Puerto Rican roots, love of travel, and years mentoring some of NYC’s finest architects and designers have both inspired and influenced Evette’s work. However, nothing sparked her food and design interests more than watching her parents cook and work on homes together as a child. She lives in downtown Manhattan with her husband Stephen, baby, Yagüez, dog Baloo, cats Henwin & Miss Kitty.
