At just 14 years old, Abby Lee Miller started the Abby Lee Dance Company. In 1980, she opened her own dance studio and estimates she has taught 3,000 to 4,000 students throughout her career. Now known for her incredible dedication, discipline and passion, Abby is one of the most sought-after dance teachers in Pittsburgh, as she has turned out numerous professional dance stars.

Divorced mother of two Melissa has both of her daughters enrolled in the Abby Lee Dance Company. Melissa danced for fun in her youth, and has always been a fan of dance outfits and performance costumes. She is a busy homemaker, and Melissa's daughters are dedicated and always at the top of their dance class, which leaves the family little time for other hobbies.

Chloe's mom

Christi believes that it is extremely important for young children to be physically active. In fact, she owns a children's fitness franchise, where they teach preschoolers health and fitness. Christi has two daughters: Chloe, who is enrolled in the Abby Lee Dance Company; and Clara, who is only one, and while she doesn't dance yet, she does love to watch, and sneaks into the studio when she thinks no one is looking. Christi has never danced professionally, but did take a few classes as a child, and she thinks every little girl belongs in dance class.

Dance Moms Holly and daughter Nia



Holly is the mother of three, and her only daughter, Nia, is enrolled in the Abby Lee Dance Company. Holly has never danced professionally. However, she danced as a child with Vicki Sheer in the Bronx, and in college she was in Kusika, the African dance company at Williams College. Inspired by her dance experiences growing up, Holly thinks dance can bring Nia the same joy and confidence.

Happily married for 19 years, Jill has three beautiful daughters and two of them are currently enrolled in the Abby Lee Dance Company. A dancer at heart, Jill was very involved in dance and gymnastics as a young girl and took up competitive cheerleading in high school and went on to cheer for the University of Pittsburgh. Jill is a strong believer that dance gives her children a sense of empowerment when it comes to self esteem and teaches them self discipline at a young age.

Christy, also known as Chrit with a "Y," has strong religious beliefs and knows how important it is to have Abby notice her daughter. Sarah is an original member of the Abby Lee Studio Dance Company. Abby selected Sarah for the team to go head to head against Mackenzie and Tea'.

Ava's mom

Jeanette, a former model and current dance teacher and studio owner, is just as driven as her daughter Ava. Holding 12 national titles, Ava was brought on by Abby to join the Abby Lee Dance Company to go head-to-head against Kendall and Nia.

Jodi considers herself a professional Dance Mom and is not afraid to voice her opinion. Kamryn attended Abby’s booty camp and master classes over the past years and Abby has been following her for a while as she is one of her favorite dancers on the competition circut.

A long time friend and colleague of Abby's, Loree is well respected in the dance community. A teacher herself, she has taken the role a leader of the new team and she’s seem as the voice of reason.

Tea's mom

Abby first fell in love with Tami, the fiery red-head who is also an expert in self defense, and her spitfire daughter, Tea' at the NYC open auditions. Receiving many titles for her performances, Tea' arrived at the Abby Lee Studio Dance Company to compete against Mackenzie and Sarah H.

Tracey was not exactly welcomed with opens arms at the The Abby Lee Studio Dance Company. But now Tracey and Sarah are back with a vengeance! Sarah holds numerous awards and will be competing against Nia and Kendall.

Cathy has been involved with dance her whole life. She has performed in a ballet company and as a semiprofessional cheerleader. For years, Cathy has been a dance instructor at her own studio.

Dance Moms Bridgette and son Lucas


Lucas' mom

Brigette, Lucas' dance mom, grew up herself dancing since the age of three studying Jazz, Ballet and Modern. Lucas started dancing simply because he loved music, loved to dance and it seemed to be a "fun activity on Saturdays."

Gavin began dancing at the age of seven. Soon after, the word prodigy began to follow his name. In his second year of dance, Gavin competed in 13 different competitions, including three different National Competitions and took First Overall in every single competition.

Alyssa's mom

Alyssa has been dancing since the young age of five years old. She has been trained in Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballroom and Hip Hop. Alyssa has placed first overall and earned the title at many prestigious regional competitions.

Evan started dancing by accident. He couldn't quite figure out what he wanted to do as a kid. He came from a soccer family with both parents and older brother who played soccer.
