New York, NY
Project Runway Season 8 (10th Place)
Project Runway All Stars Season 2 (7th Place)
After placing tenth on Season 8 of “Project Runway” and then third on Season 2 of “Project Runway All Stars,” Casanova has kept busy in NYC, creating and developing his latest collection of leather bags and purses.
Passionate and hardworking, Casanova loves being able to help clients express themselves through his fashion. His stints on Runway were rewarding and life-changing, however he left feeling a bit torn down and has questioned his own abilities after some tough critiques by the judges. He’s ready to jump back into the competition and prove that he’s got what it takes to win.
CATCH UP WITH CASANOVA:
Bring us up to speed! What have you been up to since your time on “Project Runway”?
Well, in New York is always raining penises and with that influence I started designing male underwear and swimwear.
What garment from your season of “Runway” do fans compliment you on the most to this day?
From Season 8, the military lace team challenge. From All Stars, the Nine West 70s look, the memorable fuchsia dolman.
What do you think you are best remembered for from your season?
Either for the “ex-zaaactly!” and/or my broken english!
What are your strengths as a designer at this point in your career? Any weaknesses you’re still working on?
I know how to manage myself in situations and I can take advantage of the momentum and/or the opportunities. That’s why I focus only on testosterone. That’s takes a lot of work.
How has your design aesthetic changed since your time on the show, if at all?
I would say since my time living in New York, almost everything has changed in my life, including my aesthetic. It has divided me in two ways: before New York and after New York. The city has definitely influenced the way I see almost everything.
Who is your favorite fellow “Project Runway” designer from any season, including yours, and why?
I recently have learned how to appreciate and respect every other designer. With that being said, I’m a sucker for some particular designers on the show. The one that has my cup overflowing and left me gasping for air is Michelle Lesniak.
What makes you all-star material?
I always make sure my information is updated in the producer’s phone books.
