Get the Look: Michelle Williams' Luminous Hair & Makeup

Recreate Michelle Williams's Met Gala beauty look with these expert tips & tricks:

The Hair: Soft & Sweet

Celebrity stylist Peter Gray explains: "The [Miu Miu] dress was so beautiful with those bronzes and golds that I wanted to reflect that in Michelle's hair. I didn’t want it to look styled or even blow-dried, so I created the whole effect on freshly-shampooed, naturally-dried hair. My inspiration was a modern-day Jean Seberg with a ‘Breathless’ nuance, but with a soft, sexy and defined texture.

I started by trimming and squaring Michelle’s hair around the temple areas, leaving the overall outline of her haircut untouched. This made the style look a bit more unusual and further brought out the beautiful features of her face. Next, I poured a bit of Moroccanoil Light, for fine and light-colored hair, into my palms, then dabbed my fingers into it. I applied Moroccanoil Light on the root areas all over the head to separate the strands, to help the hair look more substantial, and give it a look of effortless volume. It gave the hair a gorgeous texture and prevented it from looking flat. It also gave the color depth and vibrance instead of appearing fine or smooth.

Next, I lightly combed the back of the head to create a nice flat shape. Then I ruffled the hair all over the head with my fingers for movement. I pushed up the Moroccanoil Light into the roots at the back and then to the sides of the head, finally finger-shaping the entire style.

The finished look had a beautiful glow that complemented the design accents of Michelle's dress, and worked perfectly with the soft bronze and gold tones of her make-up.”

The Makeup: Golden Smoke

Celebrity makeup artist Jeanine Lobell explains: “The gold birds on Michelle’s dress really inspired us to go for a golden look... We wanted something chic, but a little edgy to offset the black of the dress. We felt a modern ‘golden smoky eye’ would be cool and fresh, but not washed out.

I started by applying, with my fingers, CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel very lightly all over the face and under the eyes; then I set it with the CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair Translucent 1.

For her eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes, applying the palest shade all over they eye area to act as a base so I was able to smoothly blend the other shades into it. I then applied the softer of the brown shades in the crease of the eye, wrapping it as a smoky liner under the eye. Then I added the darker brown shade in the upper lash line. I used CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Espresso inside the eye and as a sharper line on the top eyelash line. Lastly, I used CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom lashes.

On her brows, I used the CHANEL Precision Brow Definer in Soft Brown, above the brow to the outside of the brow, to create an arch and filling in below and on the inside.

Next, I applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Tempting Beige, as it works great as a contouring cheek color. I brushed it under the cheek bone, fanning it up over apples of cheeks.

To finish, I opted for CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Canotier to achieve a pale, beige-gold wash to keep everything soft and balanced.”

Get the Look: Emma Stone's Edgy Updo & Lip

The talent behind Emma Stone's Met Gala hair and makeup share how to achieve "The Amazing Spiderman" star's striking beauty look:

The Hair: "Undone" Chignon

Celebrity stylist Mara Rosznak explains: "I wanted to balance Emma’s dress, which had a beautiful maturity to it, with hair that felt modern and soft.

To recreate this style, first apply Kérastase Mousse Volumactive all over towel-dried hair, along with Kérastase Spray Volumactive at the roots for extra volume.

Next, part hair to the side and rough dry the hair for a natural wavy texture. Gently pull hair back into a low messy chignon and pin in place, criss-crossing the pins as they go in.

Finally, let a few pieces fall down around the face for a soft whimsical look and finish the look by spraying hair with Kérastase Double Force Hairspray."

The Makeup: Look-At-Me Lip

Celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin explains: “Emma's Met Ball makeup was inspired by the graphic black and white floral print of her dress. The lack of color prompted me to bring elements of a colorful spring garden into the makeup look opting for bold, feminine color on her lips, eyes and cheeks for a fresh youthful statement.

On her skin, I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rosé-Pastel. This lightweight, luminous formula allowed me to perfectly even out her skin while still letting her gorgeous freckles to show. I'm obsessed with her freckles!

On her eyes, I used a wash of pale pink shimmer from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium on the entire lid; then I boosted her lash line with two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir after placing Ardel individual lashes to the end of her eyes only. I finished by lining her inner eyelid with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair for a subtle contrast.”

Get the Look: Gisele Bundchen's Met Gala Hair & Makeup

Recreate Gisele Bundchen's latest red-carpet look with these expert tips & tricks:

The Hair: Old Hollywood

Celebrity stylist Harry Josh explains: "I wanted to go for a sleek, sophisticated style for Gisele this year. The Met Ball is fashion’s biggest night, and I thought this was the perfect look to complement the evening.

Although Gisele's hair is already luminous and healthy, I began with John Frieda Full Repair Perfect Ends Sheer Mist before blow-drying to protect her tresses from the heat and seal the cuticles for flawlessly shiny waves. I started by blow-drying Gisele’s hair, curling each piece carefully and setting it to keep the shape. The curls were then brushed out to create a soft and sleek wave throughout. To finish, John Frieda Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer was used to weightlessly smooth flyaways for a polished red-carpet look."

The Makeup: Naturally Gorgeous

Renowned makeup artist Rose-Marie Swift explains: “We wanted Gisele to look naturally sophisticated, making the look more modern and not falling into a retro direction. It made the whole look beautiful and fashion forward without being heavily made up. A perfect Gisele look.

For the eyes, I used Shu Uemura Mascara and Shu Uemura Eyeshadow in a soft blue/gray. For the face, I used my own creation, RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up in #33, as a light foundation. (Un Cover-Up also took the place of a traditional blush, as I used it to contour.) RMS Beauty Living Luminizer delivered a striking glow to the skin. Since Gisele loves for her skin to shine, I also added the luminizer on her collarbone and shoulders. On the lips, I applied RMS Beauty Lip & Skin Balm in Simply Vanilla for a natural shine and nude, natural lip color, atop Chanel Lip Definer in #34."
