Recreate Hilary Swank's ethereal beauty look from the 83rd annual Academy Awards with this step-by-step guide:

The Hair: Grace-ful Texture

Stylist Robert Vetica explains: “My inspiration was the romantic, elegant styles worn by Hollywood film icon Grace Kelly, though this is very modern, not retro in any way. Simple and sleek at the sides, most of the volume was at the back of the head, and I created a different kind of chignon that was asymmetrical — made with three interwoven sections of hair. I wanted the hair to look smooth and luminous, as if there was no product in it, and used shine-enhancing styling products to finish. We accented the final look with Anna Hu platinum and diamond earrings that were worn in the hair.

To create this style, I first blow-dried Hilary’s hair with Moroccanoil Treatment. It’s a natural choice for this look as it's lightweight and conditioning, absorbs instantly into the hair without weighing it down and gives a deep, natural-looking shine. It would also protect the hair when I used a curling iron on it later. After curling small sections to give the hair a bit of wave and texture, I separated the hair from ear to ear below the crown and pulled it back. Next I backcombed this entire back section for volume and sprayed it for a soft, natural hold with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray. I lightly brushed through on the surface and put this section in a loose ponytail and secured it.

I then lightly teased the sides and backcombed the top section above the crown, with more attention to the root. I sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray on this area as well, and unified the two sections. I made a tight ponytail at the base of the crown. Then, because I had so much hair to work with, I took three sections, sprayed each one again and interwove them to create an asymmetrical chignon. I emphasized more volume and secured the chignon slightly to the left of center.

Finally, I pinned the platinum and diamond hair accessories asymmetrically, one on each side of the chignon. The first slightly above the ear, and the other slightly below the ear on the opposite side. To finish, I gave the entire style a light spray of Moroccanoil Glimmer ShineSpray."

The Makeup: Modern Pearl

Makeup artist Monika Blunder explains: “I wanted to really play up Hilary’s eyes and I used her gorgeous Gucci Premiere couture dress with beautiful shades of grey and satin as my color inspiration.

To create the soft but colorful eye look, I blended silvery colors across the eye and then opened up the eyes by using CoverGirl LiquilineBlast in Silver Spark close to the top and bottom lash line. I used the darker colors on the outside of the eye lid and then the lighter, silver colors in the inside, using CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke to bring out the silver shades of her dress. I then curled the lashes (ten second hold on each eye) and added stunning volume with CoverGirl LashBlast Volume in Very Black.

To complement Hilary’s eyes, I created a matte, flawless face and peachy cheeks for an overall soft look. I used a feathered blush brush to apply CoverGirl Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach in a circular motion to the apples of the cheeks. This creates a very soft, luminous look.

For the lips, I went with a very natural look, using CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Sandstone to add a pretty flush of luxurious color."

Mila Kunis: Soft Glamazon

Celebrity stylist Mara Roszak explains: "I wanted to create a soft, '70s-inspired style to complement Mila's dress.

To achieve this look, first apply TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse to wet hair. Next, part the hair slightly off-center and blow dry with a medium-sized round brush. Then curl in sections with a 1” barrel curling iron and then break up the curls with fingertips to create stunning waves.

To finish, spray all over with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray so the style lasts throughout the night!"

Hilary Swank: Long, Loose & Sexy

Celebrity stylist Robert Vetica explains: "I was inspired by the sensual lines of Hilary's dress and the hairstyles of iconic 60’s Hollywood siren and Bond girl, Ursula Andress.

I started by blow-drying Hilary’s hair using Moroccanoil Treatment to instantly condition, bring any dry ends back to life and make her hair easier to style. It also gave the hair a brilliant, natural-looking shine. After the hair was dried, I did a full head set by curling 1” by 1” sections of hair, starting at the nape of the neck, then pinned to the head. These were real, full base curls, not spiral curls. I continued section by section until I reached the crown, then finished the sides and top of the head.

When I finished, it had the look of a '60s roller set, which could have been done using hot rollers. I gave the set a good spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray and let it sit for 20 minutes, to insure a good, healthy-looking set. To finish, I removed the set and gave it a good brushing.

Next, I applied a small lamount of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to give the hair a touch of weight and ensure body. I then gave the hair a good backcombing at the root and sprayed again. I brushed out most of the backcombing except at the crown, running my fingers through the hair to loosen it up. I then backcombed a bit more at the crown, gave it another spray and lightly brushed over the top."

"Influenced by glamour of '40s Hollywood and the sophisticated photographs of '40s and '50s fashion photographer, Lillian Bassman, I wanted to create an updo that blended softness, movement, direction and a new sculptural shape.

To create that feeling of movement and volume, I started by blowdrying Scarlett's hair with Moroccanoil Treatment to smooth her texture and ensure shine and flexibility. I then directed the hair back and away from her face and brought it back to the nape of her neck, and then up and towards the crown.

Next, I curled small sections of hair starting at the nape of the neck and up towards the crown using a 1.5" curling iron. Once I reached the crown, I curled the hair back from her face. When I finished, Scarlett had a tight set of curls throughout her hair, all directed up and towards the crown. I then gave the curls a good spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to set.

To finish, I vigorously brushed the hair through, again directing it up and away from the face, up from the neck towards the crown. I then gave the whole look a well-defined backcomb to create a directional shape –- again bringing the hair up and away. Then, I gave the entire look a spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray. It not only holds the hair, it leaves it with a soft, movable hold which was essential to make this look work. I then attached two 1934 Flammes brooches worn as hair clips (round and baguette diamonds set in platinum) from the Van Cleef & Arpels Private Collection to round off the look by keeping the sides of her hair close to her head and to pick up the '40s vibe of her dress.

Finally, I gently brushed through the top of the hair to smooth out the curls and gave it a wave. I finished by backcombing at the root of the crown for height.. I sprayed the hair with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray again to set the look and finished with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for natural-looking shine."
