From beneath the fog of Elnett and eyeshadow backstage at NYFW, have emerged next season's beauty trends— some familiar, some... not so.

Case in point:

Contrasting Top/Bottom Eye Makeup
As seen at Michael Angel and Derek Lam (above), this look is one to leave on the runway. Toned-down, it could work but the risk/payoff ratio isn't inspiring.

"Blackberry Bling"
A bizarre new nail color combo that's become a hot topic amongst beauty editors, bloggers and manicurists alike. Love it or hate it, it's neither elegant nor edgy.
