Love 'em or hate 'em, photo opps are simply unavoidable during the holiday season. And with everyone posting their pics on Facebook, Twitter & the like, you'll want to look your best in every shot. Here's how:
Strike a Pose It may feel silly, but taking a few pictures of yourself (or having a close friend do so for you) can allow you to perfect your go-to stance, facial expression and angle — the three keys to achieving a great shot.
Mattify Your Complexion Dewy skin may look beautiful in real life, but often translates to a seemingly greasy finish in photos. To ensure optimal results, blot your t-zone with a sheet of oil-absorbing blotting paper (or a tissue, on-the-go) before stepping in front of a lens.
Shake It Out To create temporarily volume and movement, amplify your style by flipping your head once or twice, then simply smooth any flyaways.
Get Rid of Redness Whether in the eyes or on the skin, red spots can ruin a shot. Be sure to keep compact concealers — like eye drops and a foundation pen — on hand for quick touch-ups.
Opt for a Bold Eye The wrong shade of lipstick can make skin look sullen, teeth yellow and blemishes more pronounced. When in doubt, opt for bold eye makeup (don't be shy, shadow tends to look more subtle in pictures) & always curl your lashes.
