Get the Look: Rose Byrne's Striking New Style

When craving change, most women experiment with bold lip color or amp-up their eye makeup, but not Rose Byrne. The "Damages" star proves that she's anything but the traditional English petal with this striking new 'do, created by celebrity stylist Harry Josh.

To achieve a dramatic effect whilst maintaining the length, Josh intentionally left the bags super long, almost too long. A “French chic” look à la Jane Birkin. And, as highlights don’t look great with heavy fringe, he gave Rose a deep, golden caramel color to finish.

Below, Josh shares a step-by-step guide to styling the look:

"Start by prepping with John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight (an at-home alternative to salon straightening treatments).

Next, blow out the hair with a round boar bristle brush (Mason Pearson is my fave) and finish by running a flat iron from root to tip to lock in the style.

To perfect, use the new Full Repair Touch-up Flyaway Tamer from John Frieda (which I had Rose carry with her all night [at the amFAR gala; pictured above]!), then finish with a dab of the brand's Frizz-Ease Thermal Serum for added shine."

Get the Look: Rose Byrne's Retro-Inspired Eye

Recreate Rose Byrne's sultry, '60s-inspired look with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee:

"Rose's look was part Penelope Tree, part Belle du Jour. She has incredible
eyebrows, and I wanted to push that 1960's shape but keep it modern. First, I worked along the lash line with CHANEL Long Lasting Eyeliner in Ebénè. I
blended it out and into the socket line. Over the top, I worked with CHANEL
Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Ebony — pressing the color in to make it intense. I
then used a clean brush to gently pull a little color into the outer third
of the socket and onto the lid, aiming for a semi-opaque effect. Inside the
eye, I used the new CHANEL Intense Eye pencil in Clair (available in July) to
keep the eye open.

Once I cleaned up under the eye to avoid muddiness, I
applied concealer and then used a tiny amount of the matte black shadow on
a small brush and blended away to almost nothing to create a pale gray soft
line. Her mascara was CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir with a few shreds
of strip lash.

To finish, cheeks were dusted in CHANEL Powder Blush in Pink Explosion (available
in July) and finally, lips were kept light and neutral with CHANEL Rouge
Allure Lip Colour in Insouciante."

2010 Golden Globes: Hair Hits & Misses

All-out glam was the name of the game at Sunday's Golden Globes, with a brilliant mix of both modern and retro-inspired hairstyles walking the red carpet.

Highlights included: Sandra Bullock's side-swept updo, Zoe Saldana's glamorous waves, and Jennifer Aniston's luminous locks. With honorable mentions like Diane Kruger's '40s-inspired updo, Julia Roberts' soft curls, and Rose Byrne's bedazzled tresses rounding-out our Best Tressed list.

And, as always, there were also a few questionable coifs to be seen, like Jessica Lange's frizzy mane, Mariah Carey's faux bangs and Jennifer Garner's somewhat sloppy half-updo. (And what was up with January Jones' headband? Such an odd choice.)

Which A-List actress wins your vote for Best/Worst Tressed?
