A fun alternative to pricey pieces, hair headbands are the latest accessory to make the jump from runway to red carpet.

The good news? This style only requires a couple of bobby pins to achieve. The bad news? You'll need a bit of practice (and patience) to get the look.

I've asked Suki Duggan, the woman behind "bangs over Botox," to share her step-by-step guide:

1. Measure out about 2 inches of hair on your right side of your head where your normal headband would be positioned.
2. Lay the piece flat across your head, and secure underneath and behind your ear with a bobby pin.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the left side of your hair.
4. Style the rest of your hair as desired.

For a more textured style, like Zooey Deschanel's (above), try braiding both pieces.
