Beauty, fashion, and PR experts alike can't seem to agree on one very hot topic— and I'm not talking about magazines folding or empires collapsing. The recent buzz is all about Susan Boyle's makeover, of course.
Some of Britain's major players, like publicist Max Clifford, claim Susan's transformation could prove to be a mistake. "Keep her as natural as possible for as long as possible," was his advice. "It's more about protection than promotion. She's got the voice. She has to make sure that the person people all around the world fell in love with remains the same."
Others feel that Susan is just working to improve herself, and doing so without the high-priced Hollywood stylists or glam squads. And I couldn't agree more. Susan paid a reasonable 35 (approx. $51) for her cut and color at a local salon, and looks a million times improved. She has a youthful glow about her now, and if it took a bit of media exposure to get here, so be it. It just shows that a few small, inexpensive tweaks can change a person's appearance dramatically.
