For most of us, the idea of skipping shampoo once in a while isn't too crazy a concept. The notion of never shampooing again? Now that's a bit of a stretch.
According to MSNBC, however, "no poo" (cleansing without shampoo) is an underground beauty trend that boasts quite a following. Between the beauty buffs that feel they've found the European secret to perfect hair, and the eco-conscious community who believes in doing everything to conserve and consume wisely, cutting cleanser could be the next big movement hair care.
So is shampoo just something we've been conditioned to use? The beginning of a cycle that requires numerous products to achieve normal, healthy-looking locks? Though it's likely, I'm not completely sold. I've tried going sans shampoo and the results are just not there (for my mane of fine, wavy hair). That said, I do believe in using dry shampoo when possible, and am all about creative updos when cleansing is not an option.
How often do you wash your hair? Is it a must, or do you like your hair better "au naturel"?
