I must admit, I had no clue who Imogen Heap was until this afternoon. I randomly stumbled upon an image of the Grammy Award-winning songstress departing "The Late Show" on Monday, and couldn't believe my eyes. Wow.

As you can see above, Imogen has actually made over-the-top coifs her signature— much like Lady Gaga.

Do you know/love/hate the wild styles of Imogen Heap?

From Nicole Richie to Lauren Conrad and Katy Perry, young Hollywood can't get enough of this retro-inspired trend. And for good reason— Feathers are a fabulous way to add texture to your look, and come in a variety of colors, patterns, sizes, and price points.

Four ways to rock this trend:

Subtle Side-Clip
If the idea of a full-on feather headpiece is too much, try an elegant clip-in like Mary-Kate's. It's the perfect compliment to tousled waves, sleek side-parted styles, and romantic updos.

Boho-Inspired Headband
Embrace the season's safari and ethnic-inspired trends with a playful headband like Taryn's. Worn either traditionally or across the forehead, it's a great way to update your look for spring.

Retro Headpiece
If an old Hollywood look like Drew's excites you, try a dramatic feathered headpiece. It can instantly transform any basic updo into a glamorous evening style.

Hat-Like Headband
Maggie's oversized headband is a brilliant addition to any 'do, especially shorter styles. Paired with pin curls or a textured updo, this eye-catching accessory is sure to ruffle a few feathers.
