Q: What's the best way to keep dry hair moisturized without it looking too greasy, and without having to shampoo everyday?
— Rhonda M.
A: Thank you for your question, Rhonda! I've asked Jessica Tingley of Serge Normant at John Frieda in LA— whose clients include Heidi Klum, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Martha Stewart— for her expert advice:
A great way to keep dry hair moisturized between shampooing is to use conditioner as if it were a styling crème on the ends.
Often people think that we can only use conditioner on wet hair after shampooing, but if you use a small amount it will absorb into the hair and won't look greasy at all. Avoid the roots which tend to be more oily between washings. It's like "hand cream" for the hair.
