Exciting news!
Come spring, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper will be teaming up with M.A.C Cosmetics in support of the M.A.C AIDS Fund. Gaga tells WWD, “People think if you're strong about your sexuality, you must have a d--k... And that's what this is about. You can be strong about your sexuality and be a smart woman who wears lipstick and high heels and looks pretty.”
Looking pretty isn't the sole goal of the campaign, as Gaga says, “I love to use my fame to get other points across, that's part of who I am...We are really looking forward to seeing that lip color on condoms all over the world." She adds, "We want to make this trendy and fun. We don't want this discussion of AIDS to become this overly intellectual discussion, because we need to make discussions about AIDS really normal— not sitting in school nodding off because your teacher's handed you some sheet that's like all these percentages and graphs, and you're thinking, well, she probably hasn't had sex in 15 years. Sex education should be bright and vibrant and every woman should want to have this in her purse.”
For the first time in the history of Viva Glam, M.A.C will be naming the shades after their creators and including the songstress' signatures on the packaging. Lady Gaga's hue is a bright, bubble-gum pink while Cyndi Lauper's is a soft coral red.
