Enter to win 1 of 3 InStyler styling tools, valued at $119 each!

About the InStyler:
The InStyler is the first-ever rotating hair straightener and curling iron that infuses volume and shine into the hair while styling. The InStyler is designed to offer maximum styling benefits and professional results all in one easy-to-use tool. This multipurpose hot iron allows consumers to style their hair like a pro without the difficulty of managing a blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron or big round brush. The InStyler also has a built-in brush that works together with a heated rotating barrel to create a variety of curly or straight looks, while polishing, smoothing and volumizing the hair. The rotating heated cylinder is also beneficial compared to a traditional flat iron because the barrel is constantly moving while distributing heat evenly to the hair, never remaining in one spot for a long period of time. .

The secret to lustrous, well-groomed hair? It's all in your choice of bristles. Below, the top five brushes no well-groomed woman should be without:

Paddle Brush: Mason Pearson Handy Bristle
This pure boar bristle brush is well worth the investment. It smoothes hair, and adds ample shine. (It's also a favorite of celebrity stylists, like Adir Abergel and Ken Paves.)

Oval Flat Brush: Janeke Mixed Bristle
A mixture of nylon and boar bristles make this brush the go-to tool for a smooth, polished look.

Heat-Retaining Brush: ghd Ceramic
This versatile styling tool is great for creating larger curls and loose waves. Its ceramic barrel absorbs and retains the heat of your hair dryer, providing faster results with longer hold.

Vent Brush: Denman D200
Ideal for adding volume and movement, this ergonomically-designed brush also helps to speed up the drying process.

Lawrence Schwartzwald/Splash News

Seen here on the set of the new CW drama, "The Beautiful Life," Elle MacPherson and Mischa Barton prove that— no matter how pretty the person—"perfect" hair doesn't just happen on its own. A little effort (and a few rollers) are generally required.

How much time do you spend daily on hair care and styling?

Answer Me This: Wet-to-Dry Flat Irons

Posted by babu 6:21pm GMT

Powerofforever/iStockphoto

Q: Are wet-to-dry flat irons harmful to hair? Is there a better alternative? (One that doesn't take as much time as blowdrying, styling etc.)?
— Pippa M., Ann Arbor, MI

A: Thank you for your question, Pippa! I've asked Omar Lopez, celebrity stylist and brand ambassador of ghd, for his expert advice:

In my opinion, wet-to-dry irons fade color. There's something about the drastic switch from cold and damp to extreme dry heat that splits the color molecule, resulting in faster fading color and more visits to the salon.

Instead of fighting humidity and heat, as you would the rest of the year (i.e. don't straighten your hair if you have natural curls...), embrace your texture and use a product that helps to emphasize it. If you don't have texture, create some with a product like ghd Sea Spray, which plays up matte waves (that work for both curly and straight hair) and provides a tousled, beachy look that's perfect for summer.

Answer Me This: What Are Sedu Hairstyles?

Posted by babu 3:26pm GMT

Q: What are Sedu hairstyles exactly? I hear about them all the time and have no clue what they are ... –Rhomella L., New York

A: Not a worry! I've had many people ask me what "Sedu" is, and it's actually a brand of flat irons and styling tools that aim to provide smooth, sleek hairstyles (much like the ones that Jennifer Aniston made popular). So "Sedu hairstyles" are simply looks created by using a Sedu brand styling product.

What makes this particular brand so special is/was their use of cutting-edge technology. Sedu flat irons were one of the first to reach their max temperature within seconds (reducing styling time), omit negative ions for protection, and use special plates that could provide frizz-free results without catching or breaking the hair.

If you'd like more information on the Sedu product collection, or to view how-to videos, visit SeduBeauty.com.
