Some stars succeed with a full-on, vintage-inspired look (like Dita Von Teese or Katy Perry), and then there are those who try to accessorize their modern hairstyle with a random nod to decades past.

Case in point: The lovely Petra Nemcova, who arrived at the19th Annual Family Day Wild Wild West Carnival in the Hamptons looking a little less glamorous (and a little more Dorothy-meets-Betty Page) than her usual self.

I'm all for mixing things up, but perhaps clip-in bangs would have been a smarter way to experiment with this risky new look...
