Kim Kardashian kicked off the new year at Tao in Las Vegas with a new look – heavy-duty bangs! “I wanna a new hairstyle for tonight! Should I do bangs?” the reality star Tweeted Saturday. And apparently her followers responded with a resounding “yes”.

But is the fringe real or is it clip-in? Please let them be fake, please let them be fake. They are WAY too much – too thick, too Cleopatra-esque, too…drag queen?

Taylor Swift stepped things up this week and traded in her signature blonde locks for some edgy bangs.

The Grammy-winning country superstar debuted her new look yesterday morning with a photo on Twitter, teasing, “Got a haircut.”

While this isn’t her first brush with bangs (Swift debuted a similar look almost a year ago at the American Music Awards), it seems like she’s trying to move away from her saccharine sweet image towards something a bit more grown-up.

The latest photo shown above was taken hours ago at the Billboard Women in Music luncheon in New York.

Looks like we can add one more to the celebrities with bangs list - and that would be Carrie Underwood. The songstress is fairly well known for her updos and perfectly styled curls and waves – so this is kind of a big step for her.

"My inspiration for Dianna for the 'Glee: The 3D Concert Movie' premiere was ‘British rocker/sexy/messy. I started with wet hair and razor cut her bob into a more playful ‘Shab.’ This is what I call this hair cut! This cut is a progression of the bob but it has more life and does much more when you style it. Next, I added Kerastase Volume Active Mousse to the whole head and roots. I blow dried the hair - just air, no brushing - until the hair was completely dry. I then brushed it with a large round Mason Pearson brush. I use a brush just for the bangs and blow it straight. The other part of the head was just scrunched and bent with my hands. I then used Klorane Dry Shampoo Spray on the whole roots and top of the head, and back brushed the top part of the head. Finally, I set hair into place with L’Oreal Elnett Hair Spray.”

Celebrity stylist David Babaii shares how he achieved Olivia Wilde's latest red-carpet look:

"I wanted to keep it simple and sassy with for last night’s premiere of 'The Change-Up' in Los Angeles. Straight hair paired with sleek bangs created this sexy and effortless style that accentuated Olivia's amazing features and highlighted her classic beauty.

To start, I applied Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to clean, wet hair. Once parted, I blow-dried the hair with a round brush. After the hair was dry, I trimmed Olivia's bangs by chipping into hair with scissors in a zig-zag formation creating softness and the illusion of straight, sleek bangs, while still giving the tips texture. I finished off the look by blow-drying her bangs (using a small round brush) with a slight curve into the eyebrows."
