Get the Look: Olivia Wilde's Super-Sleek Style

Celebrity stylist David Babaii shares how he achieved Olivia Wilde's latest red-carpet look:

"I wanted to keep it simple and sassy with for last night’s premiere of 'The Change-Up' in Los Angeles. Straight hair paired with sleek bangs created this sexy and effortless style that accentuated Olivia's amazing features and highlighted her classic beauty.

To start, I applied Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to clean, wet hair. Once parted, I blow-dried the hair with a round brush. After the hair was dry, I trimmed Olivia's bangs by chipping into hair with scissors in a zig-zag formation creating softness and the illusion of straight, sleek bangs, while still giving the tips texture. I finished off the look by blow-drying her bangs (using a small round brush) with a slight curve into the eyebrows."

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's Boho Braid

Recreate Nicole Kidman's Billboard Music Awards braid with this easy-to-follow guide, courtesy of famed celebrity stylist David Babaii:

"I wanted to achieve a carefree long, soft bohemian braid for Nicole. To create, I started with clean hair followed by an application of Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to the entire head. (The formula absorbs instantly and gives the hair a natural luster and shine.) Once distributed, I then parted the hair to the left and rough-dried.

Next, I used a one-inch curling iron on the bangs, continuously wrapping and releasing each strand — very quickly — then pulling on the ends to create more of a wave than a full curl. I also rotated the curling iron in multiple directions to add dimension.

I then took the hair to the right and created a long side braid. And, to finish, I applied an additional bit of the Pequi Oil Treatment from the part of the hair to mid-length to smooth and prevent flyaways."

Seen here at the Beverly Hills celebration of her new book "My Father’s Daughter," Gwyneth Paltrow’s luminous waves act as the perfect complement to her bold choice of dress.

Celebrity stylist David Babaii shares how he achieved the look:

"I began by applying Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment on clean, wet hair (used prior to drying, it's my secret for a silky, shiny finish). I then rough dried the hair for texture and volume.

Next, I created a center part and began taking random sections and wrapping only the center portion of some of the strands (leaving the top and ends free) around a 2” curling iron. I then wrapped alternating strands around the curling iron, leaving only the very tips free. This was done to create uneven curl patterns. Once the strand cooled, I ran my fingers up the hair creating a “fanning effect.”

To finish, I added additional Couture Colur Pequi Oil Treatment to my hands and tousled the waves for added volume, texture and hold."

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's Romantic Waves

Recreate Nicole Kidman's ACM Awards look with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity stylist David Babaii:

"Beginning with a clean canvas and applying Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment from roots to ends, I gently rough-dried the hair, moving my hands in various directions to create natural texture and volume.

Once dry, I fashioned a side part and divided Nicole's tresses into 4 sections (sides, top & nape). Starting at the nape area, I took 1" sections throughout the head, applying additional Pequi Oil to each. To create summer waves, I then wrapped each section around 2 fingers, forming a barrel-type curl, pinning each with a bobby pin to the back of the head. When all hair was curled and secured, I took my blow dryer and gave each wrapped curl a blast of hot air to allow the Pequi Oil to penetrate into the hair shaft for hold, followed by a blast of cool air to set the curls. I love this technique, as it allows me the ability to control the size of each curl.

Finally, I removed all the clips and added additional Pequi Oil to my hands and finger-combed Nicole's hair into soft summer waves that highlighted the richness of her hair color."

Get the Look: Uma Thurman's Bohemian Updo

You comment, we listen. Celebrity stylist David Babaii gives us The Scoop on how he achieved the "Ceremony" star's latest look:

"'French Bohemian' was the inspiration for Uma's updo. To create, I first prepared her freshly washed and conditioned hair by massaging a dime size amount of Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment into her tresses from roots to ends, combing it through with a wide tooth comb for even distribution.

Next, I used a blow dryer to dry the hair with a large round brush, lifting the root area for added volume and cupping the ends under for a smooth, rounded finish. After drying, I applied an additional amount of Pequi Oil for control and then loosely gathered the hair with my fingers and braiding it into a long, loose braid down the center back. I secured it with a rubber band while leaving the shorter top and side layers free.

To finish, I created soft loose curls with a 1 ½" curling iron by taking large sections and wrapping them around the inside barrel, holding for a few seconds. I then released, allowing the curls to fall naturally to achieve a true French Bohemian look."

"On clean, fresh hair, begin by gently massaging Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment into the hair. Next, roughly dry the hair for texture and volume. (I used IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Ionic Blow Dryer on Gwyneth.)

Now create a center part and take random sections, wrapping only the center portion of some of the strands (leaving the top and ends free) around a 1" curling iron. Wrap alternating stands around the curling iron, leaving only the very tips free. (This will create uneven curl patterns.) Once each curl cools, run your fingers up the strands, creating a "fanning effect."

To finish, apply additional Couture Colur Pequi Oil Treatment using your hands, then tousle the waves for added volume, texture and hold."

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's SAG Style

Modern elegance was David Babaii's inspiration for Nicole Kidman's SAG style. Below the celebrity stylist shares how he achieved the look:

"Starting with clean hair, I applied my new favorite must-have product called Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to her entire head. It instantly absorbs and won't weigh hair down. Next, I blow dried Nicole's hair using the IT&Y HAIRFASHION Ionic Dryer.

After the hair was dried, I gently back combed the top and sides for volume and then smoothed the surface. To begin the up-do, I swept the hair gently over creating a faux side-part and brining the rest of the hair to the center back and securing with a band just at the top of the nape. I then wrapped the hair into an un-structured chignon and secured with bobby pins. The secret was not to over comb or smooth the hair but to allow the hair to create a soft natural look.

To finish, I used additional Pequi Oil to her bang area to define strands. And for added glamour, I added a subtle decorative clip to the side."

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's Golden Globes Glow

Recreate Nicole Kidman's radiant, lit-from-within glow with these expert tips & tricks:

The Hair: Smooth, Soft Layers

Stylist David Babaii explains: "I created Nicole's look with a soft, '70s feel. To achieve this look, I applied a small amount Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment (available March 2011) to her damp hair. Next, I created a full side-part and sectioned the hair for control. My favorite method is to divide the head into 4 sections (top, sides, back; leaving the nape area as the starting point).

With my beloved blow dryer (by IT&LY HairFashion) and a medium round brush, I tried to demonstrate that you can achieve straight hair while infusing volume by using only a blow dryer. After drying each section straight, I applied an additional amount of Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to the lower portion of Nicole's hair. I then divided the strands into 6 large sections and, wrapping each one around a round brush, blasted hot air to create the curl followed by a shot of cool air to set the curl in place. Gently, I released the curl creating soft defined waves."

The Makeup: Rock 'n Roll Chic

Makeup artist Angela Levin explains: "Nicole's dress was a stunning, elegant white gown, so I wanted to add a bit of edge with the makeup. The Golden Globes were all about a touch of rock and roll this year!

First, I prepped the Nicole’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate, and applied CHANEL Pro Lumiere Makeup in Nude. On her eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Winter Nights, and three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. Her cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in In Love. I finished off her lips with CHANEL Rouge Allure Laque in Ming.”

Angelina Jolie's Half-Updo at the Directors Guild Awards

Posted by babu 3:08pm GMT

Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images

Angelina Jolie's elegant half-updo is a great go-to style to have in your arsenal. Below, celebrity stylist David Babaii shares how he achieved the look:

To begin, I used David Babaii for WildAid Hair Polish throughout her entire head. This provides control and additional shine to the hair. After drying her hair with a medium round brush and rounding the ends, I divided the hair into 4 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. It is imperative to make the extra effort in sectioning prior to styling so you have total control at all times.

Using a T3 large barrel curling iron, I then wrapped 1" sections around the inside of the iron and holding for 10 seconds. This creates a soft wave pattern. After curling the entire head in these loose wavy curls, take some additional Hair Polish and massage into your hands. Using only your fingers, loosen the waves gently with a soft combing action.

Next, again using only your fingers to comb, take the sides and top and comb back in a half up/half down style. Secure with pins.

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's Romantic Curls

Posted by babu 1:31pm GMT

Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage

Celebrity hairdresser David Babaii achieved Nicole's latest red carpet look by combining eras of vintage fabric textures with the perfect epoch red hair color. According to David, "Nicole Kidman always inspires me but for the 2010 SAG Awards, her beautiful skin tone and breathtaking beauty took the lead. The right style and hair color became my main objective."

The look began with a unique period wig that had various tones of ginger, which he then asked celebrity colorist Lorri Goddard-Clark to color match for Nicole. Once her hair was transformed from a medium blonde into a rich, gingered-toffee red, David styled her hair as follows:

First, he gently towel dried Nicole's hair and sprayed his signature Bohemian Beach Spray throughout. Next, he gently rough dried the hair moving his hands in various directions to create texture.

Once dry, he fashioned a center part and divided Nicole's tresses into 4 sections (sides, back crown & nape). Starting at the nape area, he alternated between 1" and 1 ½" ceramic curling irons, taking "V" shaped partings. He then wrapped hair around the inside of the barrel, holding for 10 seconds then gently releasing the curl. With each alternating curl, David slid his fingers up the curl to gently create a soft back combing effect and enhanced texture.

After finishing the entire head, David used his fingers and added extra Bohemian Beach Spray to loosen the curls and highlight the richness of the hair color.
