Josie Maran's Hair Care Secrets

Posted by babu 2:03pm GMT

Todd Williamson/WireImage

I've always admired Josie Maran's beachy, sunkissed look so, naturally, I did what any tress-obsessed writer would do— I called her publicist.

The secrets to this model/mum/entrepreneur's style:

Color: Lemon Drops
Josie brightens her highlights in the summer with natural lemon juice. (Lemon juice makes hair photosensitive, which causes the sun to lighten it.)

Care: Argan Oil
Argan Oil, which is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, is what Josie uses daily (on the ends) to smooth split ends and protect her tresses. And, to lengthen the life of a haircut, she also uses it as a weekly hair treatment. "I warm up Argan Oil and apply to the scalp, then let it soak for a few minutes before rinsing. It locks in moisture, and adds shine.”

Style: Air-Blown
When Josie's not working, she lets her hair air dry to create natural volume and texture. Free and eco-friendly, this styling method also helps to avoid damage caused by thermal tools.

Aveda Clove Shampoo

Posted by babu 2:40pm GMT

Source: Brand

If you’re a (natural or 'enhanced') brunette who hasn’t tried Aveda’s Clove Shampoo, you’ve been missing out. It’s an absolute must if you crave rich, vibrant hair color.

Featuring certified organic clove (to amplify warm tones) and certified organic coffee (to intensify brown shades), Aveda’s Clove Shampoo was/is the original color-boosting cleanser. What makes it so addictive? ACS gives your hair great shine and bounce, and its yummy almond scent can help curb your sweet-tooth, too.

To mark the 30th anniversary of their famed formulation, Aveda is re-releasing this product in its vintage packaging- with a twist. The new bottle is made of a minimum of 96% post-consumer recycled (PCR) high-density polyethylene (HDPE), with the caps being made from 100% recycled bottle caps recovered through the Aveda Cap Collection Program. So now we can look great and reduce our carbon footprint, how fabulous is that?

Available in-store and online September 15th, 2008. See Aveda.com for additional details.

And, to make a good thing great, David and Kate are also donating a portion of their profits to Wildaid, a global wildlife conservation
organization.
