Get the Look: ScarJo at Dolce & Gabbana

Posted by melissa k. 5:29pm GMT

Venturelli/WireImage

ScarJo recently brought even more sizzle (if that’s possible) to the recent Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2012 show by making a va-va-voom entrance to the event. The 26-year-old actress - who is the face of the designer’s cosmetics line, arrived with a makeup look created by Pat McGrath.

Here’s how to get the look using Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up:

On the apples of Scarlett’s cheeks Pat used a light sweeping of the Blush in Rosebud, and on Scarlett’s cheekbones, a hint of the Illuminator in Eva which created definition and radiance.

For the eyes, Pat used the EyeshadowQuad in Femme Fatale, a colour palette including slightly shimmery neutral tones; she began using the palest shade as a base for the eyes, and then built on this using the two mid tones. Finally, she applied the darkest shade right in the sockets of Scarlett’s eyes to create subtle definition. A touch of the Eyeliner Black and Coffee on the top of the eye lids created added depth to the look.

Finally on the lips Pat used the new Passion Duo lipsticks mixing twoshades; Infatuation and Incognito to create a full and sensuallip. On Scarlett’s nails the Nail Lacquer in Pink was used to finish the overall look.

Love It or Hate It: Carrie Underwood's Bangs?

Looks like we can add one more to the celebrities with bangs list - and that would be Carrie Underwood. The songstress is fairly well known for her updos and perfectly styled curls and waves – so this is kind of a big step for her.

Off the Runway: Fendi and Dsquared2 Spring 2012

Foiled! Fendi and Dsquared2 got very glittery during their Spring 2012 runway shows in Milan. Both catwalks featured metallic-to-the-max eye makeup on their models.

Dsquared2 kept things on the silver side while Fendi featured gold - and both kept the rest of the face clean, so the look wasn’t quite as “Ziggy Stardust” as you’d think.

Any chance you’ll be sporting this sparkly trend?

Fergie Debuts a Short Bob

Fergie? Is that you? Well, the one on the right is the real Fergie anyway - she's hamming it up with her wax figure look-alike at Madame Tussauds in Vegas.

In any case, it looks like the stylish singer has traded in her long locks for a girlie bob. It’s funny how a hairstyle can determine how you dress – with the longer hair, she was all “futuristic Barbie” and now she’s got a retro Marilyn Monroe thing going on. Unless

Hello Kitty Gets Naughty

Posted by melissa k. 5:06pm GMT

DailyCandy

Bad, kitty! The pink and precious Hello Kitty you used to know and love has gone to the dark side! The brand has taken to the streets for Fall 2011 with their new, limited edition Hello Kitty Graffiti Collection for Sephora. The packaging is kind of bad-ass – it pays tribute to graffiti artists. But the makeup itself is still pretty and shimmery.

What do you think of the new look?

Current Obsession: Smashbox Cosmetics O-Gloss

Posted by melissa k. 5:35pm GMT

Smashbox

When we read the description about the Smashbox Cosmetics O-Gloss, we had to try it. It’s touted as an intuitive gloss which “goes on clear and then reacts with your personal skin chemistry to instantly transform into your own custom shade of pink”.

So? What did we think? It’s cool. As promised, it went on clear and then turned pink. But it was a really flattering pink – a pink that wasn’t too bright or blue or red for our skin. It was the perfect pink. We’re drinking the Kool-Aid on this one.

Off the Runway: Gucci Spring/Summer 2012

Posted by melissa k. 5:18pm GMT

Frida Giannini brought some magic to Milan with the Gucci Spring Summer 2012 fashion show.

The makeup up came in the form of heavy duty raccoon eyes. And not just the “I didn’t wash my face before I crashed at 4am” kind either. We’re talking jet-black kohl eyeliner – lots of it- on a super-pale face for extra emphasis. The hair was punk meets Debbie Harry - platinum blonde with streaks of black.

The look was ultra cool – in a way that only Gucci could get away with.
