Tom Hanks' Tribute Gala: Which Look Works Best?

Posted by babu 2:58pm GMT

Janet Mayer/Splash News

Hollywood's A-List was out in full force on Monday night to celebrate the cinematic achievements of Tom Hanks at a gala held in his honor. And from chic chignons to voluminous waves, the red carpet was full of inspiring looks for spring.

My personal favorites include: Charlize Theron's sleek updo, Julia Roberts' dramatic side-part and tousled curls, Rita Wilson's teased bun, and Sally Field's luminous layers. Each look is effortless (or seemingly so!), relevant, and age-appropriate.

But whose look reigns supreme? That's for you to decide.

US Weekly's "Hot Hollywood" Party: Which Look Works Best?

Us Weekly hosted their annual "Hot Hollywood" party last night, and— though the turnout wasn't very exciting— the hairstyles showcased were (surprisingly) inspired.

My favorite looks of the night would have to include Garcelle Bouvais' romantic updo, Lauren Conrad's side-swept braid, Martina McBride's voluminous coiff, and Paris Hilton's half-updo.

Style Showdown: Paul Rudd vs. Jason Segel

Pictured here at a private screening of "I Love You Man" in London, the film's stars went for very different looks.

Paul Rudd's style is quite sharp and clean cut, while Jason Segel's hair is surprisingly longer than the last time he hit the red carpet.

I think Paul's hairstyle is more handsome, but which comedian's cut do you like most?

Topshop Opening Causes Waves

Loads of stars were out last night in celebration of Topshop's new flagship store in NYC, and it appears they all hit the same salon before the big event.

From Taylor Momsen's shagg to Emma Roberts' side-swept waves, each actress rocked a version of a beachy, tousled look.

Fergie vs. Mary-Kate: Whose New Look Works Best?

Fergie and Mary-Kate Olsen each debuted a new, eye-catching look this week— though their choice of color and style couldn't be more different.

Pictured here at the 34th Annual March Of Dimes Beauty Ball, Fergie appears to have darkened her (normally blonde) tresses and opted for a pin-straight style. It's a more refined, sophisticated look for the songstress, and one that I adore.

Mary-Kate, on the other hand, chose to lighten her locks for last night's Anniversary Gala at the Metropolitan Opera. It may not be an everyday look, but I'm loving her tousled texture and dramatic side part. It's youthful, and adds an edge to her elegant ensemble.

All in all, two very different but equally appealing styles, in my opinion.

Angelina Jolie: Blonde vs. Brunette

Seen here on the set of the new spy thriller, "Salt," Angelina Jolie plays a rogue CIA operative that dons a number of disguises— two of which have already surfaced (above).

In one scene, the Oscar-winning actress looks almost angelic in an ash blonde wig with soft bangs and, in the other, Angelina's dark tresses and blunt fringe make her seem more dramatic and mysterious.

Which shade do you think suits Angelina best?

Selena Gomez: Which Look Works?

Posted by babu 7:16pm GMT

Disney Star Selena Gomez debuted a new, more mature look at a recent CNN event in Los Angeles... And I'm not sure that this change was for the better.

Selena's a beautiful young girl and it's not that she looks bad; I just don't think this cut suits her age. The bangs are too much and, when paired with a super straight style, create an overall effect that's rather serious.

I prefer the softer, tousled waves she usually sports. It's much more becoming, and looks polished without going to the extreme.

What Husband?

Judging by Christie Brinkley’s recent court appearances, a settlement isn’t the only thing she’s seeking from her impending divorce. I haven’t seen her look this good in awhile…

Which of Christie’s court coifs do you prefer — teased and half-up, the classic supermodel, or her more relaxed half-up do?
