Get the Look: Mila Kunis' Picture-Perfect Complexion

Celebrity makeup artist Tracey Levy reveals the products used to create Mila Kunis' latest red-carpet beauty look:

"Dramatic yet effortless — that was the look I envisioned when making up Mila Kunis at the SAG Awards. Smoky eyes were the focal point, with glossy lips.

Lancôme Teint Miracle Lit-from-Within Makeup and Blush Subtil in Sheer Amourose worked to even tone and illuminate.

I then used Lancôme Color Design 5 Pan Palette in Midnight Rush, Color Design Eye Shadow in Volcano, Le Crayon Khôl EyeLiner in Black and Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black, to amplify Mila's hazel eyes.

To complete the look, I layerd Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rich Cashmere and La Laque Fever Lipshine in Hotness."

Get the Look: Christina Hendricks' Dramatic Eye

Recreate Christina Hendricks' striking SAG Awards beauty look with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali:

"Christina was inspired by Brigitte Bardot's black, smoky eyes and nude face. So, we went in this direction but softened the look for the red carpet by using a creamy, shimmery shadow in gunmetal. This gives the eye shadow a transparent quality that makes the look very strong but also very modern.

I am always sparing with foundation but especially with Christina's nearly flawless skin. I used CoverGirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Alabaster, which was perfect for fresh, lightweight coverage. For a hint of color, I used CoverGirl Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach on the apples of the cheeks, looking polished and fresh.

For Christina’s timeless smoky eye, I used CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke on the lid from just above the crease down to the lash line. I swept out past the natural lash line at the outer corners of the eye to exaggerate the eye size and add a touch of red carpet drama. Also, to define the lash line, I used CoverGirl LiquiLine Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire. This pencil defines the eye by leaving intense color at the lash line but is very blendable for a soft look at the edges. Never leave home without lush and lengthy lashes, I used CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black to create just that.

Strong eyes look great paired with clean, uncomplicated skin. Keep it fresh by powdering in the T-zone only, using CoverGirl Clean Pressed Powder, Sensitive Skin in Ivory. Finally, to complement the smoky eye, I wanted to use brown undertones, so I chose CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Kiss, perfect for red carpet glam!"

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's SAG Style

Posted by babu 12:10pm GMT

Modern elegance was David Babaii's inspiration for Nicole Kidman's SAG style. Below the celebrity stylist shares how he achieved the look:

"Starting with clean hair, I applied my new favorite must-have product called Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to her entire head. It instantly absorbs and won't weigh hair down. Next, I blow dried Nicole's hair using the IT&Y HAIRFASHION Ionic Dryer.

After the hair was dried, I gently back combed the top and sides for volume and then smoothed the surface. To begin the up-do, I swept the hair gently over creating a faux side-part and brining the rest of the hair to the center back and securing with a band just at the top of the nape. I then wrapped the hair into an un-structured chignon and secured with bobby pins. The secret was not to over comb or smooth the hair but to allow the hair to create a soft natural look.

To finish, I used additional Pequi Oil to her bang area to define strands. And for added glamour, I added a subtle decorative clip to the side."

Achieve Mila Kunis and Hilary Swank's SAG styles at home with these expert tips & tricks:

Mila Kunis: Soft Glamazon

Celebrity stylist Mara Roszak explains: "I wanted to create a soft, '70s-inspired style to complement Mila's dress.

To achieve this look, first apply TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse to wet hair. Next, part the hair slightly off-center and blow dry with a medium-sized round brush. Then curl in sections with a 1” barrel curling iron and then break up the curls with fingertips to create stunning waves.

To finish, spray all over with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray so the style lasts throughout the night!"

Hilary Swank: Long, Loose & Sexy

Celebrity stylist Robert Vetica explains: "I was inspired by the sensual lines of Hilary's dress and the hairstyles of iconic 60’s Hollywood siren and Bond girl, Ursula Andress.

I started by blow-drying Hilary’s hair using Moroccanoil Treatment to instantly condition, bring any dry ends back to life and make her hair easier to style. It also gave the hair a brilliant, natural-looking shine. After the hair was dried, I did a full head set by curling 1” by 1” sections of hair, starting at the nape of the neck, then pinned to the head. These were real, full base curls, not spiral curls. I continued section by section until I reached the crown, then finished the sides and top of the head.

When I finished, it had the look of a '60s roller set, which could have been done using hot rollers. I gave the set a good spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray and let it sit for 20 minutes, to insure a good, healthy-looking set. To finish, I removed the set and gave it a good brushing.

Next, I applied a small lamount of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to give the hair a touch of weight and ensure body. I then gave the hair a good backcombing at the root and sprayed again. I brushed out most of the backcombing except at the crown, running my fingers through the hair to loosen it up. I then backcombed a bit more at the crown, gave it another spray and lightly brushed over the top."

Recreate Natalie Portman's SAG Awards beauty look with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Eileen Kastner-Delago:

"I first applied DiorCapture Totale High Definition Serum Foundation on Natalie to create a smooth, lustrous palette, then set the look with DiorSkin Wear-Extending Invisible Retouch Powder. I then illuminated Natalie's flawless face with Dior Skinflash in Sunbeam #003.

For Natalie's Old Hollywood-inspired eyes, I layered her lids and lower rims with Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Stylish Move #970 and Sunset Cafe #440, then followed up with coats of Diorshow Mascara in Black.

Finally, to accentuate Natalie's lips, I applied Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Pink Protegee #664 and Dior Ultra-Gloss Reflect in Satin Peach #236."

Get the Look: Amy Adams' Modernist Updo

Recreate Amy Adams' slicked-back SAG Awards style with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity stylist Adir Abergel:

"The dress was a statement on its own, so I wanted to accentuate it; this look is a sleek statuesque 'do with a modern twist.

To start, I applied Fekkai Coiff Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm from the roots to the end of the hair, then sprayed Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel at the hair line to achieve the sleek finish.

Next, I blow-dried the hair straight with a round brush. With a straightening iron, I then sealed the ends to achieve the flat style. I pulled the hair into a high ponytail. (A great tip for this is to follow the cheek bone line all the way up, and then place the base of the ponytail at that point.) I then secured the hair with an elastic band, for an added dimension.

Finally for added shine, I finished the look by spraying Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist allover."

Answer Me This: Alexandra Richards' Edgy Eye

Posted by babu 2:42pm GMT

Splash News

Q: I'm obsessing over Alexandra Richards' rockin' eye from yesterday's Macy's event in New York City. Any tips? Thanks!
— Monica S., Denver.

A: Thank you for your query, Monica! I'm loving Alexandra's edgy eye makeup as well. To get the look, start with a black, gel-based liner as your base (I adore Estee Lauder Gel Eyeliner) to ensure a long-lasting finish. Next, smudge a metallic charcoal shadow (try M.A.C Pigment in Dark Soul) over the entire lid and lower lash line. To finish, brighten the inner corners of your eyes with a neutral shimmer (like NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Goddess) and coat both top and bottom lashes with two coats of black mascara (Lancome Definicils Precious Cells works well).

To achieve Alexandra's full look, be sure to keep skin fresh and youthful, and avoid blush. Instead, simply contour the hollows of your cheeks with a bit of matte or fleck-free bronzer (like Guerlain Terracotta 4 Seasons Bronzer). Lips can be left bare, or lightly dabbed with a semi-matte, nude lip color (Giorgio Armani Lip Wax in Nude Beige is a favorite); no pencil.

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's Golden Globes Glow

Posted by babu 5:00pm GMT

Recreate Nicole Kidman's radiant, lit-from-within glow with these expert tips & tricks:

The Hair: Smooth, Soft Layers

Stylist David Babaii explains: "I created Nicole's look with a soft, '70s feel. To achieve this look, I applied a small amount Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment (available March 2011) to her damp hair. Next, I created a full side-part and sectioned the hair for control. My favorite method is to divide the head into 4 sections (top, sides, back; leaving the nape area as the starting point).

With my beloved blow dryer (by IT&LY HairFashion) and a medium round brush, I tried to demonstrate that you can achieve straight hair while infusing volume by using only a blow dryer. After drying each section straight, I applied an additional amount of Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to the lower portion of Nicole's hair. I then divided the strands into 6 large sections and, wrapping each one around a round brush, blasted hot air to create the curl followed by a shot of cool air to set the curl in place. Gently, I released the curl creating soft defined waves."

The Makeup: Rock 'n Roll Chic

Makeup artist Angela Levin explains: "Nicole's dress was a stunning, elegant white gown, so I wanted to add a bit of edge with the makeup. The Golden Globes were all about a touch of rock and roll this year!

First, I prepped the Nicole’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate, and applied CHANEL Pro Lumiere Makeup in Nude. On her eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Winter Nights, and three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. Her cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in In Love. I finished off her lips with CHANEL Rouge Allure Laque in Ming.”

Get the Look: Selena Gomez's Smouldering Eye

Posted by babu 5:29pm GMT

Splash News

Celebrity makeup artist Karan Mitchell shares her notes on Selena Gomez's latest red-carpet look:

The Inspiration
For the Golden Globes, Selena chose a beautiful Catherine Deane gown with chain accents, so I focused on the coral and golden tones to create a complementary beauty look.

The Eyes
For the base of the lid, I used the first two shades from the Anastasia Beverly Hills ILLUMIN8 Eye Shadow Palette in #1, blending on the eyelid as well as from the crease to the brow as a highlight. Next, I blended the soft plum accent (shade #4) on the crease, blending up and outward all the way to the eyebrow on the outer edges. Next, I wet the deep onyx shade from another Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette (#2) and used it as a liquid liner on the top lashes. Next, I round-brushed Lash Lifting Mascara into the root of Selena's upper and lower lashes for definition.

To define the brows, I sketched in Brow Wiz from Anastasia Beverly Hills (Medium Ash) using light upward strokes, filling in brows completely by drawing little hairs. Then I used the wand brush on the other end of Brow Wiz to blend the brow color through. This helps to soften the product and create a natural effect. To highlight the brow bone, I applied the brand's Brow Duality highlighter pencil (Camille/Sand) on the brow bone, starting above the iris to the end of the brow, and blended using my fingertip.

Lips & Cheeks
To achieve Selena's glossy, petal-pink lip, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills HydraFull Gloss in Sugar. Then, using my ring finger, I gently tapped the crème cheek color from the brand's Highlighting Crème Duo (St. Tropez) to apples of her cheeks, blending to hairline. To finish, I applied a small amount of the liquid highlighter along Selena's cheekbones and blended some on her shoulders, too!

Get the Look: Scarlett Johansson's Striking Updo

Posted by babu 5:01pm GMT

 Getty Images

Recreate Scarlett Johansson's showstopping style with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity stylist Robert Vetica:

"Influenced by glamour of '40s Hollywood and the sophisticated photographs of '40s and '50s fashion photographer, Lillian Bassman, I wanted to create an updo that blended softness, movement, direction and a new sculptural shape.

To create that feeling of movement and volume, I started by blowdrying Scarlett's hair with Moroccanoil Treatment to smooth her texture and ensure shine and flexibility. I then directed the hair back and away from her face and brought it back to the nape of her neck, and then up and towards the crown.

Next, I curled small sections of hair starting at the nape of the neck and up towards the crown using a 1.5" curling iron. Once I reached the crown, I curled the hair back from her face. When I finished, Scarlett had a tight set of curls throughout her hair, all directed up and towards the crown. I then gave the curls a good spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to set.

To finish, I vigorously brushed the hair through, again directing it up and away from the face, up from the neck towards the crown. I then gave the whole look a well-defined backcomb to create a directional shape –- again bringing the hair up and away. Then, I gave the entire look a spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray. It not only holds the hair, it leaves it with a soft, movable hold which was essential to make this look work. I then attached two 1934 Flammes brooches worn as hair clips (round and baguette diamonds set in platinum) from the Van Cleef & Arpels Private Collection to round off the look by keeping the sides of her hair close to her head and to pick up the '40s vibe of her dress.

Finally, I gently brushed through the top of the hair to smooth out the curls and gave it a wave. I finished by backcombing at the root of the crown for height.. I sprayed the hair with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray again to set the look and finished with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for natural-looking shine."
