Whenever anyone finds out that I'm a beauty writer, their first question is almost always, "What's the one hair care product you can't live without?"

My response? It's different every time. From frizz-fighters to conditioning treatments and curl creams, I have a long list of favorites. But I'm constantly showing you mine, so let's see yours.

Which hair care treatments are you willing to splurge on? What everyday styling aid tops your list?

Current Obsession: Living Proof No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray

Posted by babu 6:07pm GMT

This lightweight, frizz-fighting spray is extremely versatile, and even repels dirt and oil so you can go longer between shampoos!

No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray works by creating an extremely thin barrier to prevent humidity from penetrating the hair shaft, and also to reduce the friction between hair fibers. The result is a smooth, shiny finish that lasts 16+ hours, and improves with continued use.

Styling Tips:
-
For added shine, layer this product by saturating damp hair prior to blow drying, then spritz on dry hair, section by section, as you finish your style with a curling/straightening iron
- Use it on any hair type prior to styling as an effective, smoothing detangler
- Try No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray as a style refresher throughout the day

Living Proof No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray, $14- $24. Available online at LivingProof.com.

Finally, a mass market product that offers the hold of a gel with the soft finish of a styling cream.

Sunsilk's new Captivating Curls Gel & Cream Twist works to smooth, polish, and define curls, without weighing hair down. (There's also no stiffness, flaking, or "crunch" factor to fear.)

A must-try for those seeking a substitute for pricey, prestige styling aids.

Sunsilk Captivating Curls Gel & Cream Twist, $3.99. Available online at Drugstore.com.

Current Obsession: Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Shampoo

Posted by babu 6:31pm GMT

I've been using this rose-scented shampoo for about a month now, and can't recommend it enough. My once limp, dehydrated mane is now full and soft, and I can even go an extra day without cleansing (when need be).

Formulated for medium-textured wavy tresses, Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Shampoo helps to sustain the correct balance of moisture along the length of the hair, especially on hair with dry or damaged ends. It leaves locks lustrous and manageable while wheat protein and "no build-up" silicone reduce static.

I tested this cleanser with a variety of conditioners, but if you're keen on pairing products try Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Conditioner ($31.50), which works to protect your tresses and helps keep them tangle-free.

Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Shampoo, $22. Available online at PhilipKingsley.com.

T3 Elevate Heat-Seeking Iron Volumizer

Posted by babu 4:00pm GMT

A first of its kind, this innovative styling aid is a result of T3's recent collaboration with celebrity stylist Orlando Pita.

What makes Elevate Heat-Seeking Iron Volumizer so special?

Unlike most products (which burn off with heat), this lightweight, water-free formula is actually activated by ionic styling tools. So what would usually leave your locks deflated, now helps each strand expand from root to end— allowing you to have the best of both worlds. The smooth, sleek finish you'd expect from a flat iron/curling iron, with the body and bounce of a blowout.

The results are really quite remarkable.

T3 Elevate Heat-Seeking Iron Volumizer, $38. Available at Sephora.com.

Current Obsession: Phyto Phytophanère Dietary Supplement

Posted by babu 11:17am GMT

Healthy-looking hair starts from within, which is why I'm currently addicted to Phyto Phytophanère Dietary Supplement. It's a highly-effective, once-a-day way to help your tresses look their best.

Created by the French brand that's a favorite among celebrities and beauty editors alike, these all-natural, paraben-free pills help to fortify, nourish, and protect your hair and nails.

Since I've started using this supplement, my hair has been "shedding" less and become noticeably more lustrous. Of course, these results can come from a number of things, but I'm convinced that the addition of Phyto Phytophanère has made a major difference in the health of my hair.

Phyto Phytophanère Dietary Supplement, $50. Available at Sephora.com.

The Key to Achieving Madonna's Sculpted Waves

Posted by babu 3:17pm GMT

Andy LeCompte— the A-list stylist behind Madonna's smooth, shiny waves— swears by this Revlon innovation, which creates S-shaped waves better and faster than a traditional curling iron.

The 3-Barrel Jumbo Waver may seem complicated to use, but it's really just an oversized crimper. You simply place a small section of your hair between the heated plates and press down. That's it!

Revlon 3-Barrel Jumbo Waver, $24.95. Available at Amazon.com.
