Fall '08 brings a wave of exciting new looks, with designers (and stylists) showcasing easy-to-emulate styles that can be worn right off the runway to the office or a night out on the town.

One of these key styles (that I think everyone should experiment with) is the messy updo, which works to balance the rich fabrics and jewel-toned makeup of the season beautifully. Slept-in, textured hair, visible pins, loose locks — almost anything is game.

Just be sure to wear this look with well-groomed brows and tailored silhouettes, so you always appear on-trend and not disheveled.

The stars of "The House Bunny" attended a special CosmoGIRL screening of their new film at The Hearst Tower in New York City on Tuesday night, with each actress showcasing a different 'do.

Emma Stone was vibrant in red, Rumer Willis went for a more dark and mysterious look, while Anna Faris opted for bold blonde bangs and Katharine McPhee wore her hair in a romantic updo.

Maria Bello went for a wild (yet well-executed) half-updo at the American premiere of "The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor" in Los Angeles yesterday.

I’m personally a big fan of this look on Maria. It gives her normally limp locks a boost in volume and texture, and the overall effect is glamorous without being too stiff. It also compliments the neckline of her dress quite nicely.
