Britney Spears: Which Look Works?

Posted by babu 3:03pm GMT

Source: YouTube

It's official, y'all, Britney's back – and sporting her signature array of wacky wigs.

In
her new video, "Womanizer," the mother of two rocks her hair au naturel
(well, with extensions and a good amount of product), teased and
tousled, and in a low ponytail, and also experiments with a racy red wig as well as a cropped brunette cut. All in 3 minutes and 54 seconds of film.

Personally,
I prefer Brit's classic wet and messy look to the over-the-top wigs,
but their presence means that the days of her pink piece/overdyed
hair/bad plugs (a la "Gimme More") are behind us. And that's quite the silver lining...

Which of Britney's new looks do you like most?

Nicole Kidman's Elle Awards 'Do: Love It or Hate It?

Posted by babu 6:27pm GMT

Source: Jeff Vespa/WireImage

Snapped here at the recent ELLE Magazine "Women in Hollywood" Tribute, Nicole Kidman appears washed out and badly styled next to a luminous (and well-coiffed) Halle Berry.

While Halle's hair is shiny, frizz-free, and tousled, Nicole's looks dehydrated and as though it was parted in the dark. And what was that stick-straight style doing with a teased crown? The entire look is beyond me. Sunday's mom is much too beautiful to be looking like this (and next to another new mother who looks so good!).

What do you think of Nicole's latest look, love it or hate it?

Ginger Goes Brunette, Rumer Goes Ginger

It seems that Ginger Spice (a.k.a. Geri Halliwell) and Rumer Willis (the eldest of Demi & Bruce's clan) have decided to swap their signature shades ...

Geri's been everything from blonde to flaming red, but this is the first time I've seen her as a brunette. I'm not sure if she wants to be taken seriously as a writer (?) or just craves a change for fall, but I'm not minding this new hue on the former pop star. The color itself needs to be adjusted to look more natural (it's a bit wiglike at the moment), but the overall effect is positive: She looks younger, and her light eyes just pop.

Rumer, on the other hand, looks a little washed out, and that bright red bob does nothing for her face shape or features. I'd love to see her in a rich cocoa color, something between her usual jet-black and this new, Ashlee Simpson–inspired do.

Whose latest incarnation do you like more, Rumer's or Ginger's?

Agyness Deyn's Hat: Love It or Hate It?

Posted by babu 8:19am GMT

Source: Splash News

Wallflower is not a term I'd use to describe model Agyness Deyn, who's quickly become a household name with her striking blonde locks and controversial fashion sense... Fearless is more like it.

Pictured here out and about during London Fashion Week, Agyness chose to accent her 'suited dominatrix' outfit with a '20s inspired hair accessory.
Normally, I'd be the first to critique such a combination, but I actually quite like the shape of this hat with her latest (more angular) cut. It's fun, unique, and fashion-forward.

And in a time where everyone seems to mindlessly follow the crowd, it’s refreshing to see someone succeed at creating their own look.

What do you think of Agyness’ latest hair accessory, love it or hate it?

Spring '09 Runway Recap

Fashion Week flew through NYC last week, leaving us with loads of beautiful spring styles to lust after. From niche brands such as Tuleh and Derek Lam to established houses like Vera Wang, we were offered modern (and easy-to-emulate) interpretations of the classics.

Usually, we'd have to wait a whole season before experimenting with these fun, new looks, but it seems that fall's sleek styles, playful updos, and dramatic side-parts will be taking us through to warmer weather. So if you've been hesitant to upgrade your styling tools in fear of an au natural trend, think again. This coming year is all about frizz-free, glossy locks (tied-up, pinned back, worn down, cut short, or sculpted into cascading waves), so be sure to stock-up on thermal protectors and invest in an ionic iron to protect your hair.

Kate Moss Keeps It Short (& Sweet)

Posted by babu 2:12pm GMT

Kate Moss debuted a newly trimmed look last night in London (though it seems she wasn't keen on modeling it!).

Short of shaved, I think we've seen Kate in almost every length and texture out there since the early '90s. She's gone boy-short, long, curly, straight, fringed (we won't even get into color...), and through it all she's always managed to strike a balance between fashion-forward and subtly chic.

I just love that she can take the simplest cut and color and tousle it into a perfectly cool, 'effortless' style. It's quite the talent.

What do you think of Ms. Moss' new 'do?
