Kate Moss Answers My Question

Posted by babu 3:40pm GMT

When I first spotted gray hair on the Spring 2010 runways, I just had to ask: Would you go gray purpose?

And, apparently, Kate Moss is one of the select few who's actually keen on this counterintuitive trend. The model-turned-entrepreneur debuted a set of silver-hued highlights at Stella McCartney's Fall/Winter 2010 show in Paris on Wednesday, and the blogosphere has been abuzz ever since.

What do you think of Kate's take on this runway trend?

London has gone gray— and I'm not talking about the weather. Following the lead of Gareth Pugh's and Giles Deacon's spring shows, the city's hip East End is all about a silver mane, natural or not.

Recreate Rachel McAdams' latest look with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of celebrity stylist Thomas Dunkin:

1. Start by applying a volumizing product like Sebastian Professional Texturizer to wet hair.
2.
Blow dry in sections, and pin each section in medium and large sized Velcro rollers throughout whole head and allow to set for 5-10 minutes.
3. Allow to cool then take down rollers, and spray hair with a dry shampoo for added texture.
4. Emulsify a small dab of Sebastian Professional Microweb Fiber between palms and run through top of hair. Backcomb front section and manipulate for height and volume. Secure with pins.
5. French braid bottom half of hair starting behind left ear and pin random remaining pieces into braid for haphazard, playful positioning.
6. Finish the look with Sebastian Professional Shaper Fierce for tousled movement and controlled hold.

Posted by babu 1:49pm GMT

Soul Brother/FilmMagic

The Olsen twins made quite the statement at Tuesday's MoMA Film Benefit honoring Tim Burton, with each pint-sized mogul modeling a variety of spring '10 inspired beauty looks.

Now we've come to expect the unexpected from Mary-Kate, who walked the red carpet in a bold, two-toned lip— à la Rodarte— but Ashley's candy-colored highlights? A departure, to say the least.

What do you think of the Olsens' runway-inspired hair and makeup? Brilliant or bust?

KCSPresse/Splash News

John Galliano is never one to disappoint, and the Dior Spring/Summer 2010 show was no exception.

Taking inspiration from his favorite '40s screen sirens, Galliano dressed his models in bold lips and cascading waves for their walk the runway. Lashes were amplified with DiorShow Blackout Mascara, and skin given a semi-matte finish.

It may not be an everyday look, but Galliano's modern muse leaves us with much to look forward to for spring.

Off the Runway: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2010 RTW

Posted by babu 5:08pm GMT

Superartist Pat McGath paid hommage to Dolce & Gabbana's Sicilian roots at their Spring/Summer 2010 RTW show in Milan, earlier today. Creating a bold, retro-inspired look that's as wearable now as it will be next season.

“This season our inspiration stemmed from the passionate Latin woman melded with our Sicilian upbringing,” said Domenico Dolce. Stefano Gabbana added, “The cultures are very similar and we wanted the beauty look to be reflective of this passion and sensuality.”

Backstage McGrath prepped skin with The Foundation, to create a flawlessly natural canvas. Next, she sculpted cheeks using The Blush in Warm.

On the eyes, McGrath blended a taupe shadow from The Eyeshadow Quad in Elegance along the crease and lower lids. Using a damp brush, she then applied the white shimmer shadow from The Eyeshadow Duo in Rose along the upper lips close to lashes. To complete the eye look, multiple coats of The Mascara, in Black, were brushed through top lashes.

To create an alluring pout, McGrath noted that she wanted to create, “a rich, velvet, red shade.” To achieve a deep burgundy red, McGrath painted lips with a mix of The Classic Lipstick in Devil, Dahlia, and Ultra.
