Trend Report: All That Glitters

Posted by babu 2:16pm GMT

The stars are shining brighter than ever these days, thanks to a few strategically placed jewels. From Scarlett's (necklace) headband to Kate's (brooch) hair clips, these girls prove that precious gems don't have to be as stiff as their price tags.

If you want to bedazzle your hair without the need for armed guards, try using your favorite costume jewels, or pick up a few cheap and cheerful hair accessories that sparkle.

Visible Roots: Trend or Foe?

Ashley Olsen looked as though she couldn’t be bothered to color her hair for a recent premiere in New York City.

Are visible roots a trend or foe?

Kate Walsh: Love It or Hate It?

Paging Dr. Montgomery: What happened to your signature strawberry locks?

Perhaps it's a result of the lengthy writer's strike that happened recently (the number of hair-related casualties from that disaster are impressive…), but I think this new darker 'do should have been left at the salon. Kate carries red so well, and this rich shade of espresso makes her look a bit ghostly.

Do you think Kate Walsh should return to her "roots"?

In Stores Now: Shu Uemura Art of Hair

Posted by babu 3:17pm GMT

I haven't been this excited about a product launch since John Frieda's Color Glaze, and even then the packaging was nowhere near as fierce... Art of Hair is simply in its own league. Created by Shu Uemura, a legend in the makeup industry, this product collection works as wonderfully as it feels, smells and looks on the counter.

My Must-Haves from Art of Hair include:

Liquid Fabric Mineral Texture Spray
If you want to look like you've been to the beach (but can't leave the confines of your cubicle), this wave-enhancing spray can add the volume and texture you crave. $30.

Silk Oil Smoothing Fluid
This finishing serum helps to tame frizz and flyaways, and gives your hair a healthy sheen. $30.

Visit www.shuuemura-usa.com for more information.

Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile Shiny Body Oil

Posted by babu 5:31am GMT

I know it may sound a little strange, but hear me out. I've been using this Aqua di Parma Body Oil as a shine serum for my hair, and it's absolutely amazing.

Just run a couple of drops through the lower half of your hair (after styling) for fragrant, healthy-looking locks. Of course Iris Nobile looks and feels great on the body too.

If you find this product a bit too pricey to use on your hair, try experimenting with another lightweight body oil (like Neutrogena Sesame Seed) for a similar smoothing effect. But be warned, none will have the delicate floral scent of Iris Nobile. It's truly unique.

Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile Shiny Body Oil ($76) is available online at Neiman Marcus.

Lily Allen is quite a colorful character, and her hair is no exception.

First dark, then light, now bright. Which look suits Lily best?
