The secret to Katy Perry's clear complexion? Proactiv, apparently.

"Acne really made me want to hide. I'd wear makeup to bed or stay in if I had a bad breakout," says Katy. "I've tried so many things, and because I really pride myself on being a real person – someone who gives hugs, not handshakes – I want to tell people about my experience. My fans know that I would never get behind something if I didn't really believe in it. Since I started using Proactiv I've seen a massive change in my face and my confidence. I really believe in Proactiv, and I think, if I know that answer, I should tell you, 'I've got the secret, here's the secret, please take it!'"

The stars were out last night for the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, with the likes of Beyonce, Katy Perry, Leona Lewis and Shakira modeling a number of lustworthy looks.

Much like Anne Hathaway and Liv Tyler, Katy Perry has emerged post break-up with a fierce new look.

I know that Katy's sculpted, retro-inspired 'do was/is her signature, but I find this sleek style to be far more modern and fashion-forward. I'm all for the glamorous pin-up look, but one should be inspired by generations past— not look as though they've just come from a movie set. And I think Katy's new cut does just that.

The front rows are getting younger and younger these days, and Dior's exquisite Spring/Summer '09 RTW (Ready to Wear) show in Paris was no exception. Seated closest to the runway (from the left) were the newly brunette Lily Allen, Dita Von Teese, musician Katy Perry, Emma Watson (of Harry Potter fame) and Zoe Saldana.

While my fellow flower looked a little disheveled, Dita's perfectly polished, side-parted locks never seem to disappoint, Katy's cute hair accessory and fringe looked fabulous, Emma's basic updo was, well ... just that, and Zoe's tousled tresses had a brilliant sheen.

Of all these looks, I'd have to say that Katy's was the most fun and luminous, but each had its own unique style, which is rather impressive in itself. (I wonder if stylists chat about what they're going to do ... After all, two of the same dress can be as bad as two signature coifs!)
