Megan Fox is a gorgeous girl, but there's simply no beauty that can balance such brutal highlights.

Don't get me wrong, it's great to see her experimenting with color, but this latest look is neither flattering nor fashion-forward...

My Rx? Tone those honey-colored highlights and have them start lower down, for a more natural-looking, sun-kissed style.

Kim Kardashian was spotted out and about in NYC this weekend, sporting a dramatically different 'do. And, in true Kardashian style, the reality TV star took to her Twitter page to discuss her transformation (repeatedly).

I'm all for switching things up, but blonde wouldn't be my first choice for Kim's complexion and natural coloring. A few subtle highlights, maybe, but this full-on, caramel-coated coif looks rather ... synthetic.

It appears that the trinity of "Love, Sex and Magic" agrees with Ciara. The songstress has reappeared on the scene looking fit, rested and well-coiffed.

This latest look is certainly more adventurous than Ciara's signature caramel curls, but remains subtle enough to require a second glance. A balance that escapes most who experiment with fashion-forward hairstyles.

It's not the most flattering look, but Ciara's confidence makes this colorful style seem easy and carefree.

A few of my favorite tips:

- After shampooing and conditioning, avoid standing under water, as it can actually dehydrate your hair.

- When using a weekly hair masque, apply it at the beginning of your shower, then cover your hair with a cap until you’re ready to rinse and step out. The steam will help the product better penetrate the hair cuticle.

- Give your hair a booster shot. Keep your locks looking luminous with a clear or tinted glaze between coloring sessions.
