The "Lob" (aka long bob) is the latest trend to take Hollywood, with stars of every age seen experimenting with this versatile cut.

A few favorites—

Heidi Klum: Slicked-Back
The key to Heidi's formal 'do is a sleek, lacquered finish. To get this look, try a long-lasting, strong hold hair gel— like Bumble and bumble Gellac— on wet hair.

Anne Hathaway: Romantic Waves
Loose, luminous curls work with any look, and add a softness to this (layer-less) cut. To keep your locks looking polished, finish with a lightweight shine serum like Shu Uemura Silk Oil.

Camilla Belle: Au Natural
Messy, bed-head tresses are a sexy (and easy) way to wear the "Lob." To amplify your natural texture, try Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Sleek & Straight
A classic, this smooth style can easily take you from day to night. Be sure to use a high-quality flat iron— like the T3 SinglePass Duality— when creating this look, to protect your tresses from heat and styling damage.

What's it like to outshine the Queen of Pop? Just ask Gwyneth Paltrow. Her lustrous, shoulder-length bob stole the spotlight at last night's Valentino event in NYC.

Answer Me This: Can Fine Hair Look Good Long?

Posted by babu 4:44pm GMT

Q: I have short, fine hair and was told that I could not wear my hair long because it is baby-fine. Is it possible to wear my hair longer, or is it true that certain hair textures should stay short? - Gilda K.

A: Thank you for your e-mail, Gilda! I've enlisted the help of stylist Tommy Buckett (who's created looks for celebs like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) to answer your query:

If you have baby-fine hair, you can wear your hair a little longer than you think. The trick is not to overlayer the hair. Even though additional layers can lift the hair at the root for more volume, it can also make the hair look stringy and wispy. Keeping a more even length throughout should make the hair look fuller. Also, be sure to look at your hair realistically to see if a longer style would suit you. For instance, Gwyneth Paltrow's hair may be baby-fine, but the combination of her cut, style and color has always looked chic when worn at a longer length.

For additional support, try the volumizing line from TRESemme to help add body and bounce to your style.

Fall '08 has runway models and red carpet regulars alike shining in super straight tresses. And from Posh's pixie cut to Lindsay's waist-long locks, stars are proving that any length and texture can look great in this sleek style.

To get this look, be sure to use a straightening balm (like Bumble & bumble Straight), proper thermal protectant (ghd's is amazing), and a lightweight shine serum (Shu Uemura makes a great one...) for best results. And though a good flat iron can be costly, the investment is well worth your hair health. Trust me, after a season of styling, you'll see the difference!

Will you be rocking board-straight tresses this season?

Gwyneth Paltrow: Love It or Hate It?

Posted by babu 12:59pm GMT

If Gwyneth Paltrow is known for anything (Well, aside from the gorgeous men, that Oscar, and those interesting baby names...), it's her hair. That long, Rapunzel-esque mane of platinum blonde has become synonymous with Gwyneth. That is, until recently.

She's just cropped her lengthy locks in favor of a shorter ‘do’, and I have to say that I'm loving this new look. It's much lighter, and makes Gwyneth seem younger, more approachable, and a little less serious.
