Get the Look: Jennifer Garner's Tousled Tresses

Posted by babu 12:55pm GMT

Chris Weeks/WireImage

Recreate Jennifer's "Valentine's Day" 'do with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of her stylist Adir Abergel:

Step One: Lift Your Locks
First, prep the hair by applying Fekkai Full Blown Volume Lifting Hairspray at the roots. Next, blow dry the whole head with your hands to create texture and bring out the natural wave.

Step Two: Create Curls
Follow by taking a round brush and blow dry the bangs forward and to one side. Continue with a 1’’ curling iron, curling hair away from the face but leaving the ends alone.

Step Three: Texture Your Tresses
After curling the hair, mix Fekkai Coiff Océanique Tousled Wave Spray with Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Crème, and apply to the ends to create a tousled look. Finally, to hold the look for the entire evening, finish with the Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray all through the hair.

Angelina Jolie's Half-Updo at the Directors Guild Awards

Posted by babu 3:08pm GMT

Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images

Angelina Jolie's elegant half-updo is a great go-to style to have in your arsenal. Below, celebrity stylist David Babaii shares how he achieved the look:

To begin, I used David Babaii for WildAid Hair Polish throughout her entire head. This provides control and additional shine to the hair. After drying her hair with a medium round brush and rounding the ends, I divided the hair into 4 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. It is imperative to make the extra effort in sectioning prior to styling so you have total control at all times.

Using a T3 large barrel curling iron, I then wrapped 1" sections around the inside of the iron and holding for 10 seconds. This creates a soft wave pattern. After curling the entire head in these loose wavy curls, take some additional Hair Polish and massage into your hands. Using only your fingers, loosen the waves gently with a soft combing action.

Next, again using only your fingers to comb, take the sides and top and comb back in a half up/half down style. Secure with pins.

Get the Look: Ciara's Grammy Glow

Posted by babu 11:25am GMT

Celebrity makeup artist Yolanda Frederick shares The Scoop on Ciara's sultry Grammy look:

“First, I prepped the face with Shu Uemura's new UV Under Base Fluid in Medium Beige. I then followed up with Shu Uemura's Nobara Cream Cover Stick foundation in 524 for a flawless golden finish. In order to complement Ciara’s stunning Givenchy dress, we decided to go with a flirty lash and lots of Shu Uemura's Ultimate Mascara in Black to frame the eye. For cheeks, I used Shu Uemura's Glow On blush in M Amber 89 and highlighted with Lancôme’s Model Mocha Cream Shimmer for more drama! For a perfect lip, I lined ever so lightly with Shu Uemura's Drawing Lip Pencil in Brown 710 then topped it off with shu uemura's creamy nude Rouge Unlimited lipstick in BG 940M. I then wanted to highlight the center of the lip with a shimmery gloss, so I applied Shu Uemura's Gloss Unlimited in BG 980N for that extra pop!”

Get the Look: Marion's Modern Nails

Posted by babu 4:59pm GMT

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

I've been obsessed with Marion's edgy, metallic green nails since their debut at last week's Golden Globe Awards, so I put in a call to her manicurist, Deborah Lippman, for The Scoop:

To compliment Marion's striking Dior dress, Deborah chose a new shade from her signature collection— Don't Tell Mama ($18)— and kept the nails short for a modern finish.

And for red carpet-worthy results at home, Deborah— who also painted the nails of Penelope Cruz (in Night and Day) and Kate Hudson (in Lady Is a Tramp) for the fête— suggests:

— When moisturizing or exfoliating your face, don’t wash the extra product off your hands. Instead, use extra face moisturizer or exfoliator and rub directly into your cuticles. This will keep your hands looking great all year long.
— To get the most out of your manicure, use a regular top coat instead of a quick dry top coat. The regular top coat may take a little longer to dry, but bonds better with the nail polish.

Get the Look: Nicole Kidman's Romantic Curls

Posted by babu 1:31pm GMT

Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage

Celebrity hairdresser David Babaii achieved Nicole's latest red carpet look by combining eras of vintage fabric textures with the perfect epoch red hair color. According to David, "Nicole Kidman always inspires me but for the 2010 SAG Awards, her beautiful skin tone and breathtaking beauty took the lead. The right style and hair color became my main objective."

The look began with a unique period wig that had various tones of ginger, which he then asked celebrity colorist Lorri Goddard-Clark to color match for Nicole. Once her hair was transformed from a medium blonde into a rich, gingered-toffee red, David styled her hair as follows:

First, he gently towel dried Nicole's hair and sprayed his signature Bohemian Beach Spray throughout. Next, he gently rough dried the hair moving his hands in various directions to create texture.

Once dry, he fashioned a center part and divided Nicole's tresses into 4 sections (sides, back crown & nape). Starting at the nape area, he alternated between 1" and 1 ½" ceramic curling irons, taking "V" shaped partings. He then wrapped hair around the inside of the barrel, holding for 10 seconds then gently releasing the curl. With each alternating curl, David slid his fingers up the curl to gently create a soft back combing effect and enhanced texture.

After finishing the entire head, David used his fingers and added extra Bohemian Beach Spray to loosen the curls and highlight the richness of the hair color.

Get the Look: Zoe Saldana's Award-Winning Style

Posted by babu 5:33pm GMT

Todd Williamson/WireImage

Recreate Zoe-Saldana's award-winning waves with this step-by-step guide, courtesy of TRESemme celebrity stylist Mara Roszak:

1. Starting with damp hair, apply TRESemme 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse, and part hair to one side (slightly off center). Blow dry with a small round brush.
2. Spray a soft hold hairspray all over head, like TRESemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray, and curl 1" sections using a 1" barrel curling iron. Let hair twist as your wrap, and pin to scalp.
3.
Let the hair sit in pin curls for at least 10 min. Take out pins, and brush delicately, without a lot of tension to keep the shape.
4.
Use a small drop of TRESemme Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Crème on palms of hands, and gently flatten out roots to tame any fly-aways.
5.
Pin one side (side with less hair) behind the ear, and finish with TRESemme Frizz Shield Finishing Spray. Make sure to keep the "S" form around the face.

... And that's it!

2. Spray Oribe Imperméable, or an anti-humidity spray, on the hair before using the curling iron to help protect the style and prevent frizz.
3. Brush loose curls into place, then accentuate the wave in the front and make sure it is pronounced.
4. Clip the hair in place and spray it with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray.
5. To finish, use a bobby pin and pin the hair back on one side.
