Celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff shares how she created Julianne Moore's rich, seasonally inspired look:

"First, I shaded Julianne's eyes with a mixture of chestnut, copper and deep gold tones using Clarins Eye Colour Quartet in Forest and Single Eye Colours in Chestnut Freeze and Gold Leaf. I then defined her lashes with multiple coats of Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara in Black.

For rich, warm accents, I highlighted Julianne’s cheeks with a soft flush of a warm russet. Afterwards, I stained her lips with a mixture of Clarins Rouge Prodige Lipstick in Rosewood and Nude.

Finally, to complete the look, I smoothed, perfected and evened Julianne's skin using Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch."

Answer Me This: The (Ageless) Smoky Eye

Posted by babu 12:32pm GMT

John Shearer/WireImage

Q: I'm turning 40 this year, and feel ridiculous wearing a dark, smoky eye. I think it ages me. My friends think I'm crazy. What do you think?
— Luisa N., Mexico City.

A: Thank you for your query, Luisa! I'd never recommend wearing a look you don't feel confident in, but I also don't believe that there is an age cap to the smoky eye. It's universally flattering, and timeless. The key is in the finish. The best anti-aging trick is to opt for eyeshadow and liner with a subtle sheen or shimmer (as Demi models above). It plays with light in all the right ways. Also, try experimenting with different color palettes. A cocoa, aubergine or taupe-tone gradient can be equally impactful, yet more comfortable wear. And finally, be sure to apply your concealer after your eye makeup to avoid the appearance of dark undereye circles. It may feel counterintuitive at first, but the difference in coverage and finish is truly remarkable.

NYFW Spring 2011: Vera Wang's Icy Eye

Inspired by "In the Mood for Love," Vera Wang asked Lucia Pieroni, lead makeup artist, to create a soft, romantic look that made a breathtaking impact for her Spring 2011 show. “The key to this ethereal look is the play on light and reflection and the striking radiance that results from both,” says Pieroni. “There is minimal color involved, but the overall metallic effect makes this look both wearable and highly fashionable at the same time."

A combination of the pink shadows in Clé de Peau Beauté's new Eye Color Quad (#207, launching March '11) were used to achieve this modern, icy eye. First, a subtle metallic pink was dusted across the eyelids. Then a more shimmery pink was applied to the brow bone and extended down to the cheek bone for added element of radiance. As for mascara? Not a swipe. “Metallics and sparkles are a big trend for Spring/Summer 2011, but it’s important to keep it tasteful and alluring!” exclaims Pieroni.

Get the Look: January Jones' Icy Eye

Makeup artist Rachel Goodwin shares how she created January Jones' latest look:

"For January's makeup I was inspired by Irving Penn's iconic photos of his wife/supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives, whose signature extended eyeliner symbolizes the epitome of elegance. I used ultra-feminine colors with super sculptural liner for a cool update on that classic late '50s silhouette.

First, I used CHANEL Liquid Eyeliner in Noir along the lash line for an exaggerated cat-eye effect, adding extra lashes on just the very outer edges for added length. I then applied two coats of inimitable CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the top lashes and one coat of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Purple on the bottom lashes.

The rest of the face I kept understated, using minimal foundation, pale pink cream cheek color and CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Confidence on her lips. I finished the look by dusting her brow bone and lids with a loose iridescent pearl shadow with a hint of purple to play off the super reflective quality of her dress."

Celebrity Makeup artist Mai Quynh shares how to achieve Kristen's latest look:

First, I started by applying mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 all over Kristen’s skin. Next, I used mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Nude and applied it with the mark Foundation Brush to create a smooth canvas, followed by mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Fair/Light around her nose and under her eyes. I then set her foundation with mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Nude using the mark Powder Brush. And instead of a traditional blush, I used the mark Angled Contour Face Brush to dust mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Prettied Up along her cheekbones.

Next, I prepped the eye area with mark Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium, then lined her top lashes with mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo and carefully layered mark I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Corset on top, smudging along both the top and bottom lash line with the mark Hook Up Eyeliner Brush. To finish the eyes, I applied two coats of mark Lash Splash Hook Up Waterproof Mascara in Black.

To finish, I used mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in m.powerment Peach to give Kristen’s lips a shiny, peachy glow.
