Ever wonder what's hiding under Tyra's ever-changing weave? Well, wonder no more.

The supermodel is set to appear au naturel on the September 8th episode of her self-titled talk show. She "tweets":

"Guess What! I'm rockin' my REAL hair on my talk show September 8th. No fake hair at all! Will be the hair coming out of my scalp! 4 all 2 C! no ponytails, no ballet bun head. hair will be out and free!"

Are you excited to see Tyra's "real" hair?

Costume Institute Gala 2009: Questionable Coifs

Fashion's elite flocked to New York last night for the annual Costume Institute Gala, hosted by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme of this year's fund-raiser was "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," and it seems some stars (or likely, their stylists) missed the memo.

Tyra Banks' toupee-esque updo was among my least favorite looks of the night, as was January Jones' '70s stripper look, Anne Hathaway's bouffant and Madonna's avant-garde scrunchie. (I mean, really? Wow.)

What do you think of these questionable coifs? Do any deserve a place in the Hair Hall of Shame?

Trend Alert: Scarlet Fever

From the runway to the red carpet, crimson-colored tresses have emerged as a key trend for spring '09. And, just like a must-have accessory or the latest hairstyle, changing color families can be a great way to refresh your look.

To ensure our success, I've asked celebrity colorist Lindsay Rivera— of Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills— for her expert advice:

Why go red?
Someone should go red if they are looking for something playful and new and maybe if it’s something they’ve always wanted to do!

Which shade(s) of red best suits fair/medium/dark skin tones?
As far as matching skin tones— fair skinned ladies should stay on the warmer side, with strawberry blondes and more coppery tones. Medium skin can go with a beautiful cinnamon shade, or even to a deeper auburn. For those with a darker complexion, red can be tough if you want it to look natural. So those with darker skin tones are best handled on a case by case basis, but the most suitable shades are the very deep tones.

What are the best ways to ensure an A-List outcome?
To make sure you have the best transition to red, you should definitely bring a picture of what you are looking to achieve. It is important to keep your skin tone in mind. If your complexion is like Jennifer Lopez, and you pull a picture of Julianne Moore— you have some more thinking to do! In switching from blonde or brunette to red, you should be prepared to warm up and make subtle changes your makeup and wardrobe to better suit your new scarlet locks.

...So, will you be joining the likes of Lindsay and Scarlett this season?

Tyra Banks' Teased Tresses: Love It or Hate It?

Posted by babu 8:23am GMT

Friday's VH1 Fashion Rocks celebration had stars like Beyoncé Knowles, Charlize Theron and Fergie walking the red carpet with gorgeous, look-at-me locks. Tyra Banks also had an eye-catching look, but not for the reasons one would hope...

The Emmy Award–winning talk show host went for voluminous curls (with what seems like multiple cans of hairspray and head full of extensions), but ended up with a stiff, overly teased do that looked like it swallowed the stylist who created it.

What do you think of Tyra's over-the-top coif, love it or hate it?
