Current Obsession: Tocca Candles

Posted by babu 3:04pm GMT

Brand

Beautifully scented, elegantly packaged and long-lasting, I'd like to see anyone find fault in a Tocca candle. They're simply irresistible. (As a star-studded list of devotees— including Natalie Portman, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker— can attest.)

And if you're a fig/cucumber fan, there's never been a better time to stock-up on Tocca's Candelas and Candele da Viaggios. In an effort to help those in Haiti, 30% of all sales from the "Ydra" home fragrance collection will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, through February.

Tocca Candles, $16- $36. Available online at Tocca.com.

Skip the shears, and simply switch your part for a fresh new look. It's fast, effective, and a great way to take your style from day to night.

Tips & techniques for "parting ways":

A not-so-perfect perfect part can be just as glamorous.
Take a hint from Angelina (above), and don't be afraid to style outside the lines. A woven, slightly "messy" part adds a modern edge to any classic, side-parted 'do.

Flip sides for added volume.
For a midday pick-me-up, use the end of a fine-toothed comb (or pencil, bobby pin...) to change your part from one side to the other. The switch will instantly create volume at the root— without the need for styling products or tools.

Two can be better than one.
To update a basic half-updo, part your hair on each side, then secure the swath with a delicate clip. With a little practice, you'll be able to achieve this sexy, runway-inspired look in less time than it takes to create a basic chignon.
