Answer Me This: Hair Loss
Q: I've been losing a lot of hair recently. What can I use/do to make my hair stronger and grow more?
— Talayeh V., Vancouver, BC
A: Thank you for writing in, Talayeh! To best answer your
question, I've asked Philip Kingsley, a renowned Trichologist, for his professional advice. He suggests that you regularly massage your scalp, as kneading (not rubbing) increases circulation to the area and therefore enhances metabolism of the hair follicles, leading to faster hair
growth. If a stimulating mask (such as the Philip Kingsley Scalp Mask) is applied to the scalp while massaging, the effect is even better.
To strengthen your hair, try using a moisturizing
shampoo and conditioner daily, comb (not brush) through any tangles, and always use a protective/nourishing leave-in serum or light cream (mostly on the ends).
Hope this helps!
