Suit Showdown: Kirsten Dunst vs. Leelee Sobieski

While many celebs seized the opportunity to show off their feminine figures at the CFDA Fashion Awards, Kirsten Dunst and Leelee Sobieski proved wild cards in night-and-day suits.

Kirsten wore a black Patrik Ervell suit with ombre-blue lining along the blazer (paired with a white bouse), while Leelee (who's known for her eclectic taste in fashion) kept it clean in an ivory Adam Kimmel suit, also paired with a white blouse.

I've been having a serious white/cream suit moment ever since seeing Rihanna in that sexy Marchesa number at the Billboard Music Awards, so I'm going to have to give this one to Leelee.

Colorful Styles at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards

Celebs attempted to "outbright" one another in a variety of primary and tropical shades at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards.

Some of the more notable looks included those of Jessica Alba (who worked her maternity glow in a color-blocked Diane Von Furstenberg gown), Liv Tyler (who was polished to perfection in a puzzle-print Proenza Schouler ensemble) and Chanel Iman (who looked like she'd just come from a St. Tropez model shoot in a turquoise maxi dress and gold sandals).

Also part of the red-carpet rainbow were Emmanuelle Chriqui (who oozed sex appeal in a sunny, bright-yellow mini and multicolored heels) and Alessandra Ambrosio (who radiated in a neon-red gown accessorized with tribal jewelry).

Never one to miss out on a trend, Lady Gaga donned a turquoise wig to fit the occasion.

Dare to Wear: Chloe Sevigny

The never-ending hurdle I face when it comes to�"blacklisting" Chloe Sevigny is that her ensembles, as wacky as they may be, are always backed up with an air of "My front row seat is still warm" confidence and, of course, a heavyweight designer label.

In the case of this year's CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America to honor the latest and greatest designing talents, the "Big Love" actress wore a "Barb Wire" meets Barbie dress from her collaboration with Opening Ceremony.

While I'm on team leather for the season (granted one can wear it without having to peel it off), I can't help but think her plunging, cutout and laser-cut bodice came off as a little tacky. The same can be said for her matchy-matchy shoes and forced, come-hither pose.
