Sneak Peek: American Eagle Outfitters Summer 2012

Yesterday, I took a mental break from this cold and rainy New York winter to check out the American Eagle Outfitters Summer 2012 collections.

As with last year's women's collection, the 2012 forecast reads bright and beachy, offering a wide range of easy dresses and rompers, boho blouses and swimsuits cut out of breathable fabrics in bright (sometimes even neon) hues and bold (particularly tribal and floral) prints.

Some of my favorite pieces in the AE Summer 2012 "picture tour" above include the Bright Floral Corset Dress (top center), which retails for $39.50 and also comes in blue, the Floral and Tribal Rompers (top right and bottom center), which retail for $34.50, and the Floral Ruffle Dress (bottom right), which retails for $39.50 and also comes in black.

Below, you'll find the chic pair of Sam Edelman for AE Colorblock Gladiators I've already mentally purchased (top center), which retail for $49.50 and also come in brown, and the first-ever, Coachella-friendly Aerie Concert Bra (bottom right), which comes in various shapes (including corset), sizes and playful prints ranging from $24.50 to $34.50.

The AE Summer 2012 collections will hit stores and ae.com in April. What will you buy?

Speaking of Cats, Behold Kellie Pickler's Design for the ASPCA

Country crooner and cat lover Kellie Pickler has reportedly teamed up with the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to co-design a "Kitty Crooner" with Geren Ford.

"It's time for cat lovers to truly display their cat pride," said Kellie.

The sweater features a banjo-playing kitty on front and can be purchased for $35 at aspca.org (coming soon).

Sneak Peek: The Webster at Target

I attended a super tight-lipped Target preview yesterday to get some insight into the retailer's latest design partnership program, for which it worked with various shop owners of specialty stores and boutiques to co-create affordable (and, most importantly, accessible) collections for its guest.

Titled The Shops at Target, the first flight (so intriguing!) of the program will feature nearly 400 exclusive products from five different U.S. specialty stores: The Candy Store, Cos Bar, Polka Dog Bakery, Privet House and (the fashion component) The Webster.

Founded in 2008 by Laure Heriard Dubreuil and Milan Vukmirovic, The Webster is a fashion boutique specializing in "a highly curated mix of men's and women's ready-to-wear, luxury accessories and photography, as well as an entertainment space" in the heart of Miami Beach, Florida.

"The Webster at Target includes apparel and accessories for women, men, kids and baby inspired by the essence and sunshine of Miami, featuring flamingo and deco prints in shades of coral, navy and green."

While I wasn't permitted to snag photos at the preview, I personally fell for the collection's flirty, mixed-print flats and wedges and breezy cover-ups.

The Shops at Target will debut at all Target stores and target.com on May 6.
