Style Steal: Elizabeth Banks' Topshop Corset

Posted by kgranero 3:49pm GMT

Calling all high-low fashionistas!

In Lucky's February 2012 issue, cover girl Elizabeth Banks is pictured wearing a mix of Valentino, La Garconne, Tiffany's and, here's where our budgets come in, Topshop.

While the actress's Polyester/Elastane corset, $60, is not currently available at topshop.com, you can get your hands on the very similar Velvet Harness Corset (worn by Mollie King) for the same price.

Dare to Wear: Elizabeth Banks

Posted by babu 4:21pm GMT

I'm not sure if it was the size or the fit, but Elizabeth Banks' color-blocked Prada dress looked like it was about to fall off at the "Our Idiot Brother" premiere in Los Angeles.

Not only did Elizabeth's dress appear to be hanging on by a string (make that a tacky, bugle-bead collar), but the actress paired it with a color-coordinated clutch which, if you've been reading this blog for a while, you know is one of my red-carpet peeves.

Would you dare to wear this look?

Style Showdown: Blake Lively vs. Elizabeth Banks

Posted by babu 12:30pm GMT

No woman wants to be caught at the same affair (especially when formal) wearing the same dress as someone else.

And, while not quite as damaging, I can imagine seeing someone else wearing bright-colored leather (after all, why else would you be wearing it if it weren't for the sake of standing out?) follows suit.

While Blake Lively opted for a tangerine Gucci Resort sheath, Elizabeth Banks looked red-hot in a body-hugging number from J. Mendel, both worn to this year's Teen Choice Awards in Universal City.

Who looked better in colored leather?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 4:10pm GMT

This week was all about whimsical gowns and sexy LBDs. And the winners are...

Halle Berry
in Elie Saab at the 13th Annual Costumer Designers Guild Awards. It's a rare occasion that one gets to see Halle wearing anything other than black, so it was especially refreshing seeing her radiate in this raspberry-red, lace-covered gown.

Elizabeth Banks
in Versace at Tom Ford’s Beverly Hills Flagship Store Opening. The actress oozed sex appeal in this belted, cutout LBD, which she spruced up with a pair of colorful Miu Miu sandals.

Kristin Davis in Oscar de la Renta at the 13th Annual Costumer Designers Guild Awards. The actress looked quintessentially "Charlotte" in this girly, silk-tulle gown covered in black polka-dots and cinched at the waist with a satin bow.

Diane Kruger in Vionnet at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. The actress looked like a Grecian goddess in this romantic, cream-colored halter gown that featured beautiful pleating, rustic chain detailing and a sexy open back. It's my favorite of the five.

Jennifer Aniston
in Nina Ricci at the "Just Go With It" premiere in Berlin. While I would've liked to have seen Jennifer incorporate some color into this completely-black look, I couldn't help but get caught up in this flirty, frilly LBD, which boasted a tulle rosette on the one shoulder.

Which star's red carpet look is most ravishing?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 2:00pm GMT

This week was all about roses and reds. And the winners are...

Jennifer Lopez glowing in Roberto Cavalli Couture at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala. This beautiful, corseted creation concluded with countless rows of ruffles for a really dramatic effect.

Emily Blunt
rocking a bright red Georges Chakra Edition gown at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala. The actress spiced things up even further with a matching red lip.

Kate Beckinsale working a pink Temperley London gown at the Chopard 150th Anniversary Party during the Cannes Film Festival. The actress looked like a grecian goddess in this gown, which featured beautiful beading along the neckline.

Salma Hayek
ravishing in a red Gucci Premire gown at the Cannes Film Festival. A thigh-high slit along the side and allover shimmer add extra flair to this playful red-carpet pick.

Elizabeth Banks
in a rose-colored Atelier Versace gown at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala. The actress kept her jewelry to a minimum and let her gown's exquisite beading do most of the talking.

Which star's red-carpet style is prettiest?

Dare to Wear: Elizabeth Banks

Posted by babu 4:56pm GMT

While I'm usually a huge fan of Elizabeth Banks' style, I didn't know what to make of this Georges Chakra Spring 2010 Couture collection gown.

Worn to the Cannes Film Festival, the train on this asymmetrical gown looks more like a backdrop than part of the dress.

Would you dare to wear this look?

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS Gala

Posted by babu 3:28pm GMT

Celebs dressed to impress at amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Antibes, France.

Some of my fave looks included those of Elizabeth Banks (in Atelier Versace), Mary J. Blige (in a sparkling cream gown) and Emily Blunt, who wowed in a fire engine-red Georges Chakra Edition gown.

Which star's red-carpet style sizzled?

Style Showdown: Liz vs. Elizabeth

Posted by babu 2:50pm GMT

Art director Liz Goldwyn paid tribute to Christian Dior by wearing a leopard, belted sheath to the Kimberly Brooks' "The Stylist Project" Exhibition, hosted by both Dior and Vanity Fair, last night.

I was first wooed by the dress's wild print when I spotted it (no pun intended) on actress Elizabeth Banks at the Lionsgate Pre-Golden Globe Party in mid-January.

Both ladies accessorized with a black clutch and red mani/pedi. I'm giving this one to Banks for hair and makeup.

Who looked classier in Christian Dior?
