Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Hollywood Style Awards

Posted by babu 11:40am GMT

Young stars shone bright at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards, which took place last night in Las Vegas.

Some of my favorite styles included those of Camilla Belle (who kept it classy, as always, in a light gray sheath with pleating along the plunging neckline and skirt), Emily Blunt (who rocked an LBD with charisma, and a bevy of ribbon detailing along the neckline, from Roksanda Ilincic) and Katie Cassidy (who exuded head-to-toe elegance in a lace panel gown designed by Georges Chakra).

Which celeb's awards style is most stylish?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 3:02pm GMT

This week was all about the frills. And the winners are...

Jessica Biel in Emilio Pucci at "The A-Team" premiere in Los Angeles. Jessica proved an absolute HIT in this dress, which was two parts Grecian goddess, one part gutsy. It's my favorite of the five.

Emily Blunt
working a lacy Elie Saab sensation at the 2010 Women In Film Crystal Lucy Awards. While Emily isn't exactly the first celeb to test out the lace trend, the cut and style of this dress were extremely refreshing.

Brandy rocking a sculpted top and mini combo at the 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors presentation. The singer's bubbly personality proved the perfect accessory to this playful pair, which she topped off with pink satin peep-toes.

Demi Moore wearing Lanvin to the "Killers" premiere in Los Angeles. A black belt added extra shape to this luxurious teal gown.

Zoe Saldana sporting a white and black MaxMara dress at the 2010 Women In Film Crystal Lucy Awards. Allover ruffles and a bowed sash upped the flirt factor on this adorable wrap dress.

Which star's frilly fashion pick is your favorite?

Red-Carpet Recap: Women In Film Crystal & Lucy Awards

Posted by babu 11:58am GMT

Girly glam was the name of the game at the Women In Film Crystal & Lucy Awards, which took place yesterday in Century City, California.

Some of my favorite looks included those of Emily Blunt (in a feminine Elie Saab sensation), Maggie Grace (in a ruffled magenta dress and nude heels) and Zoe Saldana (in a ruffled and bowed MaxMara wrap dress).

Which star's style is cutest?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 2:00pm GMT

This week was all about roses and reds. And the winners are...

Jennifer Lopez glowing in Roberto Cavalli Couture at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala. This beautiful, corseted creation concluded with countless rows of ruffles for a really dramatic effect.

Emily Blunt
rocking a bright red Georges Chakra Edition gown at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala. The actress spiced things up even further with a matching red lip.

Kate Beckinsale working a pink Temperley London gown at the Chopard 150th Anniversary Party during the Cannes Film Festival. The actress looked like a grecian goddess in this gown, which featured beautiful beading along the neckline.

Salma Hayek
ravishing in a red Gucci Premire gown at the Cannes Film Festival. A thigh-high slit along the side and allover shimmer add extra flair to this playful red-carpet pick.

Elizabeth Banks
in a rose-colored Atelier Versace gown at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala. The actress kept her jewelry to a minimum and let her gown's exquisite beading do most of the talking.

Which star's red-carpet style is prettiest?

Best-Dressed at the Costume Designers Guild Awards

Posted by babu 3:23pm GMT

There were a lot of bold looks at last night's 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. My favorite look of the night was Anna Paquin in a digital-print Marios Schwab dress and cage heels. Following close behind were Kristen Bell wearing a plunging, sequined Stella McCartney number and Emily Blunt in a metallic, marble sheath.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about strapless sheaths and one-shouldered wonders. And the winners are...

Demi Moore wearing a strapless Marchesa dress at the "Valentine's Day" premiere in London. I love how oversized organza flower appliqus add extra dimension to this dress without causing it to lose its shape altogether. While I may have preferred this dress with nude pumps, I do like how Demi bypassed a necklace to keep the flowers in focus.

Iman looking stunning in an Angel Sanchez gown at amfAR’s New York Gala to kick off Fall 2010 Fashion Week. The fan-like pleating along the asymmetrical neckline and bodice of this gown is nothing short of mesmerizing. The gown's rich, emerald shade and Iman's eccentric jewels complete the class act (which is my favorite here).

Jennifer Garner rocking a nude and black Valentino sheath from the pre-fall collection at the "Valentine's Day" premiere in Los Angeles. The alternate draping of leather and lace gave this dress a naughty vs. nice appeal.

Anne Hathaway working it in a feathered Marchesa mini at the "Valentine's Day" premiere in Los Angeles. The playful nature of the feathers and bright cobalt shade of this dress really capture the actress's youth without going overboard (the sleek design and the fact that the dress materials are kept the same shade help keep things tame). I keep a close watch on Anne for moments just like this.

Emily Blunt enchanting in a Grecian-inspired Kaufman Franco dress at "The Wolfman" premiere in Los Angeles. While I probably wouldn't have thought to pair a dress with such intricate waist detailing with an equally complex headpiece, I was extremely pleased with the outcome. I also love how the asymmetrical hem falls short of covering up Emily's gladiator-style heels.

Which star's red-carpet look is your favorite?

Upgrade: Emily Blunt Goes Greek

Posted by babu 2:48pm GMT

Some may disagree that "Wolfman" star Emily Blunt's Grecian Kaufman Franco gown, which she wore to her film's premiere, is an upgrade from the Naeem Khan creation worn on the red carpet at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.

But, in the words of one of our favorite "Project Runway" judges, designer Michael Kors, the long-sleeved, to-the-knee, conservative dress is too "M.O.B." (Mother of the Bride) for a 27-year-old like Blunt.

Is this star's recent look an "upgrade" or a "downgrade" from her last one?
