One Designer, Two Ways: Alexander McQueen

Posted by babu 6:05pm GMT

Pippa Middleton, sister and maid of honor to Kate Middleton (now Catherine Duchess of Cambridge) looked stunning in a creamy, crepe gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen at the royal wedding.

If you recall, Cameron Diaz wore a similar version of the gown minus the lace embroidering along the cowl neck and sleeves (also by Alexander McQueen) to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.

While I'm inclined to say I love the adaptation worn by Pippa because of the ease and grace in which she pulled it off and the magnitude of her event, I must say that I think each version of the dress was fit for its respective occasion.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.

Dare to Wear: AnnaLynne McCord

Posted by babu 1:17pm GMT

Now THIS is what I call productive.

The Badgley Mischka gown worn by AnnaLynne McCord to the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes after party appeared to have been created by someone locked in a bathroom for a few hours with extra rolls of toilet paper to spare.

While the fabric seems soft (Charmin, perhaps?), it still manages to look harsh while encroaching upon AnnaLynne's chest.

Would you dare to wear this look?

Style Showdown: Christina Aguilera vs. Donatella Versace

Posted by babu 4:29pm GMT

Well, folks, it looks like Christina Aguilera has beaten Donatella Versace at her own game!

The singer rocked a strapless, peach-colored Versace gown with silver ribbing along the bodice to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Look familiar? Donatella wore the same gown to the 2009 Whitney Museum Gala back in October.

I'm giving this one to Christina because it actually fits her, unlike Donatella's gown, which she appears to be on the verge of busting out of.

Who looks prettier in peach?

Quick-Change Artist: Chloe Sevigny Trades Her Torn Valentino for Lacroix

Posted by babu 2:22pm GMT

Poor Chloe Sevigny was having wardrobe malfunctions all night at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday:

First, she complained while walking the red carpet that she needed a "tarp" to keep the rain off her delicate Valentino gown.

Then, to add insult to injury, a Globes escort ripped the same dress when she walked on stage to accept her award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

Perhaps that's why Chloe decided to swap the delicate chiffon floor-grazer for a more party-friendly Christian Lacroix frock to celebrate her "Big Love" win at the HBO after-party later that same night.

Dare to Wear: Amanda Seyfried

Posted by babu 1:30pm GMT

Did Valentino run out of fabric when creating Amanda Seyfried's dress for the Golden Globes After Party?

The dress appeared as though it was haphazardly pieced together by a bunch of Cinderella's (blind) mice. Even worse than that, and the fact that you can see Amanda's corset right through the netting, are the Valentino petal booties she added to create, er, some extra dimension?

The embroidered flowers peeking over the shoulder faintly remind me of those on a Marchesa mini recently worn by Blake Lively (See it here).

Would you dare to wear this look?

Best-Dressed at 2010 Golden Globes

Posted by babu 10:42am GMT

Last night, at the 67th Annual Golden Globes, not even an unexpected LA downpour could deter our favorite TV and film stars from going for all-out glam at the event that officially kicks off the 2010 awards show season.

Stars went for sophisticated gowns and classic looks of strapless dresses and beaded designs that were worthy of a few style awards themselves.

If the Golden Globes is the warm-up for awards season, I can't wait to see how stars top these fabulous looks, when they walk their next red carpets for the SAG Awards and the "big show" of the Oscars.

See all our picks for the Golden Globes Best-Dressed List in the new lookbook and vote on your favorite dresses of the night on All The Looks.
