Worst Dressed at the 2012 SAG Awards

Posted by kgranero 2:49pm GMT

From bubble wrap to Batgirl, this year's SAG Awards was met with some serious missteps.

And the worst of the worst included Rose Byrne (who looked like she was about to parachute out of a plane Elvis-style in a sparkling Elie Saab jumper), Angelina Jolie (whose shiny Jenny Packham gown appeared more cheap than chic) and Zoe Saldana (who looked like she was wearing bubble wrap in Givenchy Haute Couture).

Also topping (or shall I say bottoming) the list were "Glee" star Heather Morris (who appeared to rocking a seat cover, designed by Masai Payan, from the Batmobile) and Busy Phillips (looking Woodstock-worthy in a BUSY boho dress).

Best-Dressed at the 2012 Golden Globes

Posted by kgranero 7:34pm GMT

Celebs managed to stand out on the red carpet (despite wearing so much red!) in a variety of sleek and satin-y gowns at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

And the awards go to... Angelina Jolie (who exuded killer confidence in an Atelier Versace gown with a pop of red along the collarbone), Emma Stone (who looked like a Roman empress in a plunging, burgundy and ruby Lanvin gown cinched at the waist) and Salma Hayek(who proved a warrior princess in a gold-plated Gucci gown that concluded with countless, shimmer-clad pleats).

Reese Witherspoon (who looked red-hot in a corseted Zac Posen fishtail gown) and Natalie Portman (who ravished in a rosy, custom Lanvin creation in pink and red) were also among those sharing in the spotlight. (If you recall, she also opted for pink, though pastel, and red at last year's awards.)

Who was your best-dressed at the Golden Globes?

Style Showdown: Catherine Duchess of Cambridge vs. Angelina Jolie

Posted by kgranero 7:06pm GMT

Catherine Duchess of Cambridge looked beautiful (albeit not original) in a whimsical, silver Jenny Packham gown at a dinner for the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal last night.

If you recall, Angelina Jolie wore the same dream of a draped dress (only in red) to "The Tree Of Life" premiere in Los Angeles back in May.

While both ladies looked beautiful, it seems like this gown was fit for a princess (literally), so I'm giving this one to Catherine.

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 3:56pm GMT

This week was all about the Golden Globe Awards. And the winners are...

Angelina Jolie
in Versace. I simply cannot express how refreshing it was to see Angelina choose a gown in any color other black, let alone this sensational spearment shade. A cinched waist, sculpted shoulders and allover shimmer further accentuated her Green Goddess physique.

Megan Fox in Armani Prive. This pastel-pink gown, complete with a gorgeous, crystal-encrusted bandage bodice, strikes the perfect balance between sexy and sophisticated.

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa. Olivia proved the belle of the ball in this black, tulle gown with taupe sequins cascading down, which was on the playful side compared to what we're used to seeing her in.

January Jones
in Versace. Mixed reviews aside, I thought the "Mad Men" star looked ravishingly retro in this hard-to-pull off cutout, fringed gown, which she topped off with a matching red lip.

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive. While I've expressed disappointment in the predictability factor of Anne choosing this gown (which resembles several of the star's previous, Armani Prive-dominant red-carpet looks), there's no denying she looked like a real-life Golden Globe in this sequined, shoulder-sculpted gown.

Which star's Golden Globes look is your fave?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 3:28pm GMT

This week was all about taking risks. And the winners are...

Angelina Jolie
in Atelier Versace at "The Tourist" premiere in New York. This creamy, angora gown proved a refreshing alternative to the actress's usually dark and drapey red-carpet wardrobe.

Leighton Meester in Christian Dior at the "Country Strong" premiere in Los Angeles. I came across the picture of Leighton in this flirty, floral dress and neon wedges and, just for a moment, I was able to escape from reality (that being that it's 34 degrees here in New York). Ahhh!

Katie Cassidy in Edition by Georges Chakra at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards. The "90210" actress has a penchant for classic styles with an old Hollywood glam vibe and this gown, which features beautiful lace paneling throughout, is no exception.

Jessica Alba
in Valentino at the "Little Fockers" premiere in Los Angeles. Between its winter-white shade and allover fringe and bow detailing, this dress (from the designer's Fall 2010 Couture collection) has Palm Beach Christmas written all over it. The actress wraps up her frosty frock with gold Christian Louboutin sandals.

Olivia Wilde
in Emilio Pucci at the "Tron: Legacy" premiere in Los Angeles. Beautiful, allover ombre gold sequins and a sharp cutout allowing some cleavage made this gladiator-glam gown.

Which star's risky red-carpet look is your fave?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 5:32pm GMT

This week was all about shimmery gowns and short sheaths. And the winners are...

Jessica Szohr
rocking a flirty Notte by Marchesa number at the "Piranha 3D" premiere in Los Angeles. The "Gossip Girl" star added a futuristic kick (no pun intended) to the red-hot dress with silver pumps.

Angelina Jolie
glowing in an Amanda Wakeley gown at the "Salt" premiere in London. While I'm used to seeing this type of free-flowing gown on the actress, the allover metallic finish is refreshing and truly eye-catching.

Dianna Agron posing in a floral Carolina Herrera Resort at the Breakthrough of the Year Awards. My favorite part of this girly-chic dress is the cluster of chiffon petals along the thigh and bottom hem.

Kelly Brook heating things up in a champagne-colored Ina Soltani gown at the "Piranha 3D" premiere in Los Angeles. This dress oozes sex appeal from the sweetheart neckline to the thigh-high slit. A red satin shoe serves as the finishing touch.

Jennifer Aniston rocking a grey tweed Dolce & Gabbana sheath for an appearance on "The Daily Show." While the overall cut of this sheath is a little more mature, a shorter hem and fringe detail make for a more youthful look. My only complaint is that the actress didn't take things a tad further with a bright or decorative shoe.

Which star's red-carpet style is most ravishing?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 1:11pm GMT

This week was all about high glamour. And the winners are...

Angelina Jolie wearing Atelier Versace at the "Salt" premiere in Moscow. While simple, the plunging neckline and hot-red hue of this dress create a recipe for seduction.

Lea Michele in a silky Reem Acra dress at the "Glee" Academy event in Hollywood. The gold, floral foiling winding down this dress is absolutely gorgeous, and I like how the actress kept the dress the main focus by opting for a neutral shoe.

Nicole Kidman in a Prada Print Collection dress at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Installation Luncheon. I just love the olive-green color of this dress against the backdrop of Nicole's creamy skin and strawberry-blonde hair.

Jessica Biel
rocking a red Giambattista Valli gown at the "A-Team" premiere in London. Ruching along the bodice and waist, paired with a bold, black sash, add more dimension to this chiffon number.

Eva Mendes
sizzling in a metallic Vivienne Westwood dress at Comic Con in San Diego. This dress features a softer, more subtle, version of the pointed, cone-like neckline the designer is known for, which I happen to like much better. The allover shimmer also plays well on the actress's dewy, olive-toned skin.
