From Lady Gaga (in Moschino) to Marissa Tomei (in Preen), peplum waists have been popping up (literally!) everywhere lately (including numerous collections debuted at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2012).

Dare to Wear: January Jones

I could hardly believe my eyes when I first came across this picture of January Jones.

I don't know if it's her longer hair,�amphibian-themed makeup, or that ill-fitting Preen dress (paired with "mom" sandals), but this is a far cry from the fashion-forward bombshell I've come to know and love on the red carpet.

Let's chalk it up to her wanting to be comfortable during her pregnancy and hope for a speedy (and stylish) recovery.

Dare to Wear: Beyonce

One of the fears that comes with getting a new puppy is that one of your prized possessions (delicate dresses, shoes, hats-you name it) could be mere moments away from being ripped to shreds. Apparently, for Beyonce, shredded clothing is a non-issue.

The singer was spotted wearing this piecey, floral-print Preen dress while recently out and about in Paris and, while I'm a big fan of the cutout trend for spring, I can't help but think her dress (which she paired with a huge snakeskin satchel) came across as a bit sloppy (and half-eaten).

Dare to Wear: Blake Lively

Everyone's favorite "Gossip Girl" flasher Blake Lively was at it again during at the San Diego Comic Con event in California this past weekend.

The actress, who wore a revealing black and white blouse and pant combo from the Preen Resort 2011 collection, was there to promote her upcoming film "Green Lantern."

One Designer, Two Ways: Preen

Paris Hilton chose a swirly sensation from the Preen Spring 2010 collection for her birthday celebration at TAO Nightclub last weekend.

Mandy Moore, along with several other celebs, rocked a similar version of the dress in black (from the label's Spring 2009 collection) to a Vanity Fair and Burberry event back in 2008.

I prefer Paris' design, as it features cutouts on the skirt, as well, and somehow manages to cover more of the bodice.

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Crazy Cut-Outs

Leighton Meester carried on with her trend of wearing strange outfits for her singing performances in a unique cut-out Christopher Kane design at Klutch nightclub in Miami last night.

Her look may seem odd, but it's not too original after spotting the weird wrapped Preen dress Gwyneth Paltrow ushered onto the red carpet in the summer or Jennifer Lopez's mummy-esque dress at the AMAs in November.
