Which Star Looked Worse in Marchesa?

Posted by kgranero 3:43pm GMT

Andrea Riseborough and Madonna proved two "crows" of a feather in similarly sloppy Marchesa numbers at the "W.E." premiere in New York.

While Marchesa has made a name for itself with feminine, and often frilly, fixings, Andrea (in a full, feathered peplum, asymmetrical, sheer and embroidered dress) and Madonna (in a sequined gown with padded tulle shoulders and tulle sleeves (seemingly tucked into bangle-like cuffs)) looked like a fabric store had literally thrown up on them.

Too much or just enough? Weigh in below!

Dare to Wear: Madonna

Posted by babu 11:14am GMT

Madonna may not be getting any younger, but her style sure seems to be.

The fifty-something singer's edgy ensemble at the opening of Hard Candy Fitness in Mexico appeared to have been plucked straight from daughter Lourdes' closet.

She topped off her look, which included a graphic tunic, over-the-knee boots and studded belt, with dog collar chains. Woof!

Would you dare to wear this look?

Dare to Wear: The Material Girls

Posted by babu 2:56pm GMT

Has Hollywood's most rebellious teen (on and off screen) finally met her match, or shall I say matches?

The ripped tight wearing, raccoon eye bearing Taylor Momsen barely managed to stand out when wedged between similarly-distressed mother-daughter designing duo Madonna and Lourdes at an event to promote their Material Girl clothing line at Macy's in Herald Square.

Which star's distressed duds are most daring?

Dare to Wear: Madonna

Posted by babu 10:00am GMT

And Madonna makes three.

Following the new "think-outside-the-box way to cover your face" trend (see Leighton Meester and Ashlee Simpson), the material girl stepped out with on-again boyfriend Jesus Luz in New York wearing what looks almost like a muzzle.

At least no one has to worry about walking their dogs around her.

PETA's 'Worst-Dressed' Celebrities 2009

Posted by babu 6:03pm GMT

PETA recently named Madonna as the #1 celebrity fur offender of 2009.

Other celebrity fur-pas according to the list include the Olsen twins, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kanye West and Elizabeth Hurley.

Looking for a chic, faux-fur alternative? I'm obsessed with this MICHAEL Michael Kors Faux Coyote Fur Vest, now on sale for $62.65 at Bloomingdales.com, that our Entertainment Producer Addie is wearing right now (result of picture ambush shown below). Doesn't she look fab?!

Read the full PETA article, and watch an anti-fur video from Project Runway's Tim Gunn, at Peta.org.

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Loading Up on Lace

Posted by babu 3:41pm GMT

Though stars’ latest lace looks may not be the same dramatic floor-sweeping all-lace designs that pop up during awards shows, it doesn’t mean the missing yards of lace make for a less impressive dress.

For a recent Sherlock Holmes premiere, Blake Lively, in a nearly sheer Dolce & Gabbana mini, upstaged the other stars on the red carpet that are actually IN the movie.

For the star-packed “Nine” premiere in New York, mother and daughter Madonna and Lourdes kept all eyes on them in coordinated, yet individualistic, Dolce & Gabbana lace looks.

But when Nicole Kidman topped her L’Wren Scott sheath with a poofy lace capelet on December 9 for a screening of “Nine” in California, the fashion reviews were less than favorable.

Dare to Wear: Madonna and Lourdes

Posted by babu 5:28pm GMT

Like mother, like daughter was certainly the case for Madonna and Lourdes Leon at last night's "Nine" premiere in New York.

The two proved a fearless duo: Madonna wearing a lace, corseted bodice and Lourdes rocking a mini, leather jacket and combat boots.

While there's no mistaking their styles were daring, I can't necessarily say they were bad (I might even go as far as to say Lourdes looked cute in her rocker ensemble. At least the most important bits were covered!).

Would you dare to wear these looks?
