This “upgrade” was a hard decision. Not just because it’s nearly impossible to tell Mary Kate from her sister Ashley Olsen, but because their red carpet “get-ups” at last night’s “Nine” premiere was reminiscent of the odd outfits they wore to last month's MOMA museum gala.
But last night’s look pulls a head by a nose, thanks, primarily to Mary Kate leaving the costumey stove-pipe hat at home and trading a spotted coat for a chicer cropped harlequin jacket and cool coordinated clutch.
Ashley wore her same Hermes bag and yellow satin Manolo Blahnik heels, but the switch to chic satin pants and even a furry-feather Muppet coat was an improvement from last month’s awkward black coat over a long blue dress.
