Red-Carpet Recap: "Iron Man 2" World Premiere

Posted by babu 11:35am GMT

The strength was in the seams at the "Iron Man 2" World Premiere last night.

My favorite celeb looks included those of Scarlett Johansson (in a sculpted Armani Priv dress) and Michelle Monaghan, who rocked a magenta sheath with playful twisting down the center.

The film's leading lady, Gwyneth Paltrow, rocked a bright white Armani short-and-blazer combo.

Which star's "Iron Man 2" style is your fave?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 4:50pm GMT

This week was all about...pretty pleating and one sexy LBD. And the winners are...

Blake Lively
sizzling in a lacy black Dolce & Gabbana mini at the "Sherlock Holmes" premiere in New York. WOW! Rachel McAdams should've been the star of the premiere, but with this plunging power-dress, stealing the spotlight was a breeze. This look, which is my fave among the group hands-down, is the best I've seen on Blake thus far. And I've got to find a style steal for those gold Christian Louboutin glitter pigalle heels. Fierce!

Rachel McAdams in Andrew Gn at the "Sherlock Holmes" World Premiere. While the actress didn't wow me in New York (see above), she still managed to achieve "fab five" status by wearing this asymmetrical, grey chiffon creation. The gown is rather ethereal, but the metallic embellishments along the bodice give it a slightly edgier feel.

Naomi Watts rocking a magenta Marchesa sheath at the "Nine" premiere in New York. Sculpted pleating along the shoulders and waistline took this dress (which reminds me a lot of the Victoria Beckham collection) to new heights. It was also refreshing to see Naomi choose such a vivid color. She, like friend Nicole Kidman, often falls prey to black and white.

Fergie glowing in a Marchesa Resort gown at the "Nine" premiere in New York. After months of harsh leather, chains and even spikes, the singer is having a feminine moment, and I couldn't be happier. The soft draping along the shoulder and skirt of this gown, completed with a sparkling waist and accessories, is a grecian goddess make.

Michelle Monaghan
working it in a pleated, J. Mendel bubble dress at the SAG Awards Nominations Announcement. This dress's cantaloupe color really brings out Michelle's natural glow. Nude, ankle-strap heels, wrap up the actress's youthful look.

Which celeb's red-carpet style is most ravishing?

One Designer, Two Ways: Calvin Klein

Posted by babu 1:25pm GMT

Michelle Obama wasn't the "first lady" to be spotted in a velvet, lemongrass-colored dress from the Calvin Klein collection. Michelle Monaghan wore an edgier version of the same dress to the 2009 Free Arts NYC Benefit Auction back in May.

While I wasn't especially surprised to see this color on Mrs. Obama (remember her Inauguration day ensemble?), worn while accompanying the president to receive his Nobel Peace Prize in Norway, I do prefer the conservative hemline over Michelle Monaghan's and, while the first lady did wear a matching overcoat at points, the way her knit cardi sets off the rich fabric of the dress here.

The purple version of this dress has also been worn by Eva Mendes.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.
