Style Showdown: Alexa Chung vs. Jessica Chastain

Posted by kgranero 10:05am GMT

Alexa Chung looked ravishingly retro in a velvet Emilio Pucci dress complete with lace sleeves at the launch of the designer's new boutique at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York.

Actress Jessica Chastain gave the corseted creation the red carpet treatment at the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" Costume Institute Gala back in May.

While both Alexa and Jessica looked like true ladies in this fancy frock, I like how Jessica's more simplistic shoe worked with her dress, as opposed to Alexa's clunky kickers, which distracted from the rest of her look.

Which lady looked prettier in Pucci?

Style Showdown: Ciara vs. Constance Jablonski

Posted by kgranero 7:38pm GMT

Just one week after model Constance Jablonski showed off her flawless figure in a sheer Emilio Pucci dress at the amfAR MILANO 2011 event in Milan, Ciara was spotted sporting the same sexy sheath during Paris Fashion Week.

While both ladies certainly have the bods (and confidence) to pull this daring dress off, Ciara's bodysuit offered a tad more coverage than Constance's bra and panty foundation, so I'm giving the "gift of grace" win to her.

Who looked sexier in Emilio Pucci?

Dare to Wear: Beyonce

Posted by babu 6:45pm GMT

Beyonce looked like she was wearing a full-body girdle in this body-crushing gown designed by Emilio Pucci at the 2011 Costume Institute Gala.

Thankfully, she was able to use her tail to get around (since the rest of her body was immobilized).

Dare to Wear: Selena Gomez

Posted by babu 5:39pm GMT

Is Selena Gomez a trend hoarder?!

While many women have been guilty of overbuying when it comes to the latest trends, much fewer are guilty (or perhaps even capable) of incorporating a season's worth of trends into one outfit.

Apparently, Selena, who recently rocked a dress featuring an illusionary inset, lace, corset, beads, studs, snakeskin paneling and a tribal print skirt, hails from the "much fewer" category.

To make matters even worse, she topped off her Emilio Pucci creation, worn during a visit to the "Late Show With David Letterman," with zippered, rosette-clad ballet flats.

Dare to Wear: Gwyneth Paltrow

Posted by babu 1:14pm GMT

Apparently, Gwyneth Paltrow saw the "Country Strong" premiere in Los Angeles as the perfect opportunity to show of the fruits of her vigorous gym labor.

While the actress's long, white Emilio Pucci gown (from the Spring 2011 collection) appeared simple, and even conservative, from the front, a lace-up slit riding all the way to her bust and an open back told a completely different story.

I just hope the edgy ensemble came complete with a full-body wax.

Dare to Wear: Drew Barrymore

Posted by babu 11:31am GMT

This dress looks like the result of a lot of leftover sequins, and one overly-resourceful designer.

Drew Barrymore wore the multi-colored collage of a dress, designed by Emilio Pucci, at the "Everybody's Fine" screening in New York last night.

Too bad the scraps fell short of one shoulder...
