This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 1:09pm GMT

This week was all about bold colors. And the winners are...

Abbie Cornish in Amanda Wakeley at the "Sucker Punch" premiere in Los Angeles. The actress struck the perfect balance between classy and cool in this cobalt-blue creation, which she accessorized with matching drop earrings.

Jamie Chung in Giambattista Valli at the "Sucker Punch" premiere in Los Angeles. Never one to stand on the red-carpet sidelines, Jamie made a loud entrance in this lemondrop-hued gown, which featured yellow and gray chiffon draping along the bodice and waist.

Carla Gugino
in a satin sweetheart gown at the "Sucker Punch" premiere in Los Angeles. The dark-haired beauty oozed romance in this rosette-covered gown, which she accented with a poppy-colored lip.

Emmy Rossum in YSL at the Metropolitan Opera Premiere of Le Comte Ory in New York. The starlet looked minty-fresh in this green, Grecian-inspired gown, which she amped up with a purple belt and shoes and a saturated makeup palette.

Malin Akerman
in Holmes & Yang at the "Sucker Punch" premiere in Los Angeles. Malin looked red-hot in the bohemian-meets-bombshell gown, which was cinched at the waist for more definition.

Which star's colorful style is your fave?

Red-Carpet Recap: "Sucker Punch" Premiere (Los Angeles)

Posted by babu 4:08pm GMT

Stars painted the red carpet in a rainbow of bright colors at the "Sucker Punch" Premiere in Los Angeles.

Some of my favorite looks included those of Abbie Cornish (who achieved head-to-toe elegance in a cobalt-blue Amanda Wakeley gown), Carla Gugino (who oozed romance in a creamy, satin gown with allover rosette detailing) and Malin Akerman (who looked red-hot in a casually-cut, yet totally chic Holmes & Yang gown cinched at the waist).

Diane Lane (in a classic, marigold sheath) and Jamie Chung (in a citrus-hued Giambattista Valli sensation) also proved women to watch.

Which star's vibrant style is your fave?

From Abbie Cornish's fire engine–red sheath to Christina Hendricks' LBS (little black suit), there was a lot of variety on the red carpet at Kimberly Brooks' "The Stylist Project" Exhibition, hosted by both Dior and Vanity Fair.

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Lace Looks Lead Fall Trends

Posted by babu 2:38pm GMT

Alright, ladies, if you didn't pick up that the lace trend is the must-have accent for winter, based on the stars who have either piled on the look in the past month, or tried out the trend with subtle insets, then here's a little more evidence that the feminine fabric is taking over the red carpet.

Abbie Cornish's lace top by Stella McCartney would look great at any cocktail party or dinner date with friends.

But, the more daring Dolce & Gabbana dress on Penelope Cruz (pictured today with her "Nine" co-star Marion Cotillard and Italian style icon Sophia Loren) is best reserved for an all out night of drinks and dancing.

Two Ways to Wear: Jewel Tone Halter Gowns

Posted by babu 10:43pm GMT

There is nothing worse than showing up a at party to see another guest wearing your dress. And if you have ever attended a formal affair, where floor grazing styles are "de rigueur" ("requested"), you know the odds are against you making a completely unique fashion statement at the event (unless you are Rihanna).

At the recent Academy Of Motion Pictures And Sciences Governors Awards Gala on November 16, actresses Abbie Cornish (in Christian Dior) and Amy Smart both donned similar halter styles gowns in jewel tone shades of amethyst and jade, but each stood out in their look.
