Best-Dressed at the 2011 CMA Awards

Posted by kgranero 2:51pm GMT

As usual, there was no shortage of sparkle (or volume) at this year's Country Music Awards.

Some of my favorite looks of the night included those of Taylor Swift (who resembled a blushing bride in a tulle-covered J. Mendel gown), Carrie Underwood (who appeared statuesque in a gold Reem Acra gown) and Faith Hill (who looked like a character out of "Narnia" in a winter-white Chado Ralph gown).

Nicole Kidman (in Jean Paul Gaultier) and Kellie Pickler (in Pamella Roland) also proved members of the red-carpet sparkle society.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 CMT Music Awards

Posted by babu 12:20pm GMT

No glittery, Glinda-style gowns? No larger-than-life hair? If it weren't for the labeled screens in the background, you wouldn't guess these shots were taken at the 2010 CMT Music Awards.

While both Taylor Swift (in Galliano) and Kellie Pickler (in Zuhair Murad) appeared to be wearing 18th century curtains, I actually liked the fashion picks of both Julianne Hough (in a sunny Georges Hobeika mini) and Faith Hill (in a flowy J. Mendel gown).

And, though I loved the color of Carrie Underwood's fuchsia Jenny Packham dress, I just can't get past that gold, sequined dog collar. Woof!

Which country star's style is classiest?

Best-Dressed at the 2009 CMA Awards

Posted by babu 6:57pm GMT

Forget fru-fru frocks (at least on the red carpet, that is)! This year's CMA Awards were characterized by sophisticated styles with a splash of sparkle.

And the awards for best-dressed go to...

Carrie Underwood wearing a metallic Theia gown. One of the co-host's most modest looks of the night, the geometric detailing on this dress manages to glide effortlessly over her every curve.

Taylor Swift sparkling in Reem Acra. I can't say I was surprised to see Taylor choose this dress because it's right on cue with her whimsical, fairy princess-esque style, but I can say she was definitely the Belle of the Ball.

Jennifer Nettles working it in a navy Luisa Beccaria gown. The allover ruffles on this dress's fishtail train offer a playful touch to this otherwise polished look, which happens to be my favorite of the night.

Faith Hill in a flowing, steel-purple gown. Jeweled straps, earrings and several necklace strands give this otherwise simple halterneck gown a glamorous feel.
